Any body know anything here about TAMU? Saw a tweet where TAMU gave Martin some things to think about while down there. Has anybody heard any more about his visit with them. Obviously right after the OV is going to be the most positive time for them. If we survive this and get him in the last weekend then I think CBJ seals the deal myself.

“I sat down with both of them,” he said. “Coach Sumlin was just telling me that they want and have a need for me at corner and he thinks they’re a year away fro winning championships. They just need to get their defense straight because they’re going to score points.”

While the visit went well, Martin didn’t waver on his commitment to the Vols in the wake of it.

“It was a good visit. It was nice talking to the coaches. The coaching staff is going to continue to keep coming to see me and recruit me but I’m still solid to Tennessee right now. I’m pretty solid. Texas A&M was great though.”

Ole Miss will never be a consistent contender IMO. LSU is on the way down; AD there is just incompetent. Bama and Auburn are still pretty strong but A&M has been competitive and even beat them. I think A&M in a few years will be a factor in the west; Chavis is the best DC in the conference IMHO and A&M's offense is pretty potent.

All of that said who gives a crap about the west, that Justin Martin though. He good.

Seems to be the secondary is garbage every year. I know that have that young DE who racks up some sacks, Myles, or whatevr his name is. They've had some decent DL, and of course Von Miller a couple years back as DE/OLB. I think they give up some rush yards but I swear I always see their secondary just getting burnt all the time.

If they had an average defense the two years with Johnny, they probably would have made a BCSNC. His second year after winning the HT, and everything else, they lost more games that year because their D was hot garbage. It really could cost Sumlin his job, but I guess that's why he wanted to bring Chief in. Have a better Defense in a couple years and then he can bolt for the NFL.

Hopefully Barnett has more sacks than Myles this year. Both are great players but I'll take Barnett every time. Love his mean streak, and he will open things up for others or himself with the great talent that's coming in to play next to him. Our Defense, is going to be fast, strong, huge, and playmakers at every spot.
