'15 JUCO CB Justin Martin (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Single digits on D-linemen are badass.

Almost as badass as the crop top jerseys the AA' outlawed this year. Smh

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the advice. I will definitely take it to heart. I have been here since the very first post about my boy and will be here for the last. Fortunately, the boy is an elite athlete and adversity drives him. He knows what to expect. He knows he will be celebrated when he is doing well and shunned when he makes a mistake. We have read all the comments, from him not being smart enough to make it out of JUCO and everything after that. So must likely I will continue to read from the background as I have done all these months. Anywho, can't wait til September 5...GBO!!!!

VN has some good, caring people. Look at the love and generosity given to our fallen comrades through the years (RichRollin, et al). However, this IS an open forum. That means VN also has loonies, jackasses, and contrarians. Please don't take their idiocy to heart.

And for everybody else who doesn't believe current players, parents, and recruits monitor our activity --- how many more examples do you need?

Ok, I said I was going to stay in the background but can someone tell me how to upload an Avatar or pic? Thanks for any help!!!

I'll try to help. I'm on a Desktop PC.
Go to "User CP" near top of page click on it.
Go to "Settings & Options" on left side.
Click on "Edit Avatar"
The instructions are in the box. I used "Option 2" and uploaded a picture from my computer.

By the way, my avi is a picture of my National Championship ticket from Jan. 4, 1999. Hope you can get to see us in one in the next couple of years.

Looks right to me. Thanks for taking the time to help out old vol.

If I could have one Christmas wish, it would be the VN posters with critical / hateful things to say about the players would go away.

Some of the most interesting insights have been from the parents who have been bold enough to post. Unfortunately the crazies eventually get to them and the parents quit posting like Croom and Sanders.

I do think that McGee's aunt on the Bball forum will stay the course as though.

Criticism is ok as long as it doesn't cross the line. This is a open forum where you are free to say what you think. If someone has a dumbas* opinion about a player, then call em on it. That is why it is not a good idea for parents to be on here unless they can take both the good and bad.

I believe that Vince and Barbara Dooley both monitor the VN Recruiting threads and are really proud of how the Vol fan base loves their son. I try to brag on him when I get a chance. My love for Doofus is right up there with my love for Vandy.

It's written plain as day in Freak's site rules. There's an obvious demarcation between discussing a player's skills or ability ("_____ needs some work on his coverage") vs discussing a player's personal character ("______ is a piece of crap"). The first one is always okay. The second one is not.

Oh snap. This sounds really stupid, but I just now made the connection that Justin was #8 at Overton in 2013--and I'm now even more stoked to see him in orange. I saw him play that year, and he was dominant. But I wasn't following recruiting too closely at that time--and since I guess he was maybe JUCO-bound (?), I just never made the connection.

Its pretty crazy how having bad grades will keep an elite athlete under the radar because the pay sites won't publicize them. You would think they would mention them a little but they barely did despite that all things equal he is on Hurd/ Malone level of talent potential.

Yeah, I guess I actually was following recruiting fairly closely at that time. Maybe your explanation is right. He was just a beast in the Overton game I saw. Amadi was good too, but Martin was clearly the best athlete on the field that night.

Oh, and Van Jefferson was on the field that night, too. ;)

I was born at Crawford Long in 66. So, love that your a Falcon, Hawk, and Brave fan. Since 66 was such a good year for expansion in Atlanta, I have and always will be a fan of the same three! Good luck to your son. Hope his football and entire college experience is everything he wants it to be.
