'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Kamara, who’s hoping to join the Vols in January as an early enrollee, is ranked the nation’s No. 3 junior-college prospect and No. 2 juco running back in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.

He will have three years to play his final three seasons of eligibility.

Tennessee running backs coach*Robert Gillespie*has developed a strong relationship with Kamara since he enrolled at Hutchinson earlier this year, and a few of Kamara’s friends already play for the Vols, including wide receiver*Jason Croom, running back*Treyvon Paulk*and wide receiver*Ryan Jenkins.

A former top-100 prospect in the 2013 class, Kamara was recruited by Tennessee out of Norcross (Ga.) High School. But the Vols never gained enough traction with him to become serious contenders, and he ended up choosing Alabama over Georgia on National Signing Day last year.

Kamara’s tumultuous career with the Crimson Tide didn’t last long. He didn’t see the field last year after being hobbled by a knee injury just before the start of the season. He also was suspended twice, and he didn’t participate in any of the Crimson Tide’s practices leading up to their Sugar Bowl appearance against Oklahoma.

“There are no hard feelings with me and Alabama,” Kamara told 247Sports in March. “A lot of people had a negative perception on me because I was not playing. People were saying I was a cancer to the team, I was a crybaby, I was not playing, so I was not all in — this and that.

“Really, with me not playing, it kind of gave me a way to look at it from a different perspective. Not playing made me sit back and think about, ‘You really have to work for this.’ It kind of humbled me.

I won't argue with this because I am realistic and I am sure there are players who are misled at every school - that's just how it is.

But there are multiple quotes from kids saying Saban tells them they will have to earn a spot and do what they have to do, etc etc etc.

When AK didn't get to play it obviously had to be upsetting since he was a super star in HS. We see it almost every year around the country. The difference is what the player does at that point. AK did not handle the situation right, and it ended his Bama career. I will say the reports about him not going to class and causing trouble, etc. did not just start when he got kicked off.. we knew about that for months and expected him to be gone.

That doesn't mean he will be the same now at UT. I assume he will have matured and be ready to go now. That is pretty common. We have a new TE that had issues at UGA and went JUCO and now claims to be mature and ready. We will see.

Like bammers care if their football players don't go to class and cause trouble. Heck, if they randomly beat up innocent people walking down the street, they only kick 'em off temporary. Whatever.

We are loaded at rb.Now we have an AK.We are building towards greatness again.Welcome home AK glad you made it out of Bama with all your teeth intact and never having to live in a mobile home, or been abducted by aliens.

Wow! You're right. Next year we're going to have quite a stable of RB's!

Hurd
Paulk
Scott
Reid
Kamara
Pickett
Summerhill

The Bammers on 247 are PISSED that Kamara is going to Tennessee lol. Calling him Benedict Arnold and other things. I guess they were completely fine with the idea of AK going to UGA.
