'15 NC RB Bryce Love

I think the coaches are interested in a 3rd RB for this class because Kamara is likely going to be here for just one year. Although a 3rd RB isn't super necessary with us taking three last class, if we can land Love or Newsome to play some RB/slot, or even get a walk-on in Vaughn, then we'll maintain that depth after Kamara splits.

Have you seen any tape on Vaughn? Kids a stud.

I have. I like him but I like Frazier and Love better. If we can't land either one of them I would still be happy with Vaughn. I really like his cutting ability but I like Frazier and Love's game a little more, he also doesn't have that top end speed that those two have IMO. But like I said I still like his game and would be happy to land him.

I think Vaughn is a good rb. but hes not that explosive or fast imo. He and Rankin are pretty similar.

With UT's staff quickly extending the offer to Vaughn when the Paulk news was about to break, I'd guess they think pretty highly of him. As long as he does not feel he was slow played, I'd be surprised if he is not a Vol.

Rankin was just a recruit making an UOV stop in to see UT. Don't think he has an offer and I doubt he ever gets one. Vaughn IMO would be a good replacement for Paulk. Treyvon was a bit more of the bowling ball, but Vaughn at 210lbs will be a load a year or 2 into his college career.

My preference in order: Frasier, Love, Vaughn.

I'd guess that would be the UT staffs order as well.

I just think the order in which UT has the best shot is:

Vaughn, Love, Frasier.

The offer to Vaughn with the other 2 still "in play" is why I say that.

Could be. Id rather slow play Vaughn in the hopes of getting Frasier or Love, even if it means missing on all 3.

That may end up being their plan. With Vaughn set to announce, the UT offer all a sudden had him slowing things down and backing off making a decision. CBJ could have very well extended the offer to Vaughn knowing it would buy him some time with all 3.

Something else I thought about today was with us losing Paulk, maybe the staff should consider taking Brazil as a RB. LSU thought he would be a good 1 for them. He is around 195lbs and blazing speed. Him being a Juco would help space out the RBs roster wise a bit as well.

Just a thought.

I just always think it's funny to picture these scenarios

CBJ: I really like you're game, we want to offer.

Vaughn: Awesome. I want to commit.

CBJ: Slow your roll, son...

I like this thought. What do you think our chances are of signing Brazil this year?

I've said it before, IMO that is exactly the way a recruit should handle a UT offer IF they know they want to be a Vol. Ask CBJ the second the offer is made, "can I commit". If he says not yet, or we'll see, the kid knows where he stands and that offer does not mean much. Had Vaughn asked that and CBJ said not now, IMO Vaughn would have committed to wherever he was ready to before the UT offer came. That's partly why I think at least Vaughn thinks CBJ would take him now.

I also wonder if non committable offers are extended by position coaches and committable ones are extended by Butch. That way you build in that space and separation to protect yourself from those scenarios.
