'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

-OleMiss247.

I think they got that backwards.

Its Phillips who is willing to follow Amadi where ever he goes. Amadi is the ring leader for several midstate recruits including some 2016 guys.

Amadi is trending to UT big time even though still technically committed to Ole Miss.

Either way, as of right now it looks favorable for UT to land both.

Phillips gets Ugo. Ugo and Phillips get Newsome. Newsome, Phillips, and Ugo, flip Richmond. Then Butch goes and smacks Hugh Freeze with a newspaper and says stay out of my state.

And Richmond is like:

In all seriousness ever since people starting writing articles about Ole Miss attacking our state, Butch has taken TN recruiting on his own shoulders and to another level. He is personally recruiting the remaining in state targets.

Per Hubbs

Tennessee also expects to host several 2015 unofficial visitors including Kyle Phillips and Ugo Amadi.

Amadi was just in on his official visit last weekend and it would be hard not to take him making it back for a second straight weekend as a very good sign. Obviously, Ole Miss is not giving up but the Vols have some momentum here heading into December. His in-home visits may become crucial in his recruitment as we've seen Hugh Freeze be a very good closer down the stretch since he's been at Ole Miss.

If you have similar recruits and one is an instate guy I think you take the instate guy. There is an intangible lift from having an instate guy for buy in and commitment. Also you need a track record of success with your instate guys so you can lock the borders down and focus more outside. I think it is smart how involved Butch is with the TN recruits.

I agree. All things being equal I'd always prefer they take the instate guy when possible.

I think our best days came with a core of instate guys that bled orange earlier than age 17. No some of these recent instate guys may not bleed orange going back to childhood since we have sucked but if we stick with focusing on them then their brothers and then their nephews and then their kids will.

Plus, it maybe especially important with Amadi... Can't remember who said it, but they said Ugo is not only a big influence on this years instate recruits, but also some of the next couple classes. Maybe it was Conley or GFW who said it, not sure.

Just looked at Ole Miss' class. I totally forgot they got Swinney and was thinking he was Auburn bound. Wish we would have got him.

Visit Tennessee this weekend, Ole Miss for Egg Bowl, announce final decision. Tennessee with momentum right now thanks to Butch Jones and Terry Fair. Ole Miss will heavily play the loyalty card as Tennessee was slow in turning up its recruitment on Ugo.
