I think it is going to be an incredibly competitive and elite competition to land a place in our defensive class for 2015, especially at DE and LB, jmo.

I know you follow recruiting probably more than any poster on here, but why do you think Holland?

IMO, no way in Hades we land Holland. He is UF bound.

I don't follow recruiting that damn closely, but I was really just citing an example of the level of LB we should be able to land.

Mitchell, like Cherry, is a pure MLB. I don't think we can take 2 of those next year.

To my knowledge he won't be an EE, and he wasn't listed as an EE on the coaches board 2 weeks ago.

I have no idea what could have changed or whether or not he is going to be an EE.

I was under the impression he was not going to be an EE until VQ said that he was and is taking his OV this wekeend.

That's true but this was in the VQ morning notes yesterday...

"Tennessee will host three official visitors this coming weekend with all three being commitments and expected mid-term enrollees. Tight end Daniel Helm, athlete Neiko Creamer and defensive back D'Andre Payne are all expected to be in town."

Any chance Mitchell moves to defensive end? And is he a take at end?

Especially if Mitchell is really a legitimate 6'2"+ and already 240+ lbs as a junior in high school.

Question is for anyone to answer. Not just Madkins.

Overton is getting a new head coach. Golden opportunity for Butch Jones to get in early and establish a great relationship with whoever is taking over the head coaching job, or whoever they hire. Johnny O always has had talent. Particularly in the late 1990s. Terry Anderson was their coach for years and years. Imo he squandered talent worse than Fulmer could.

They had a team in 1999 similar to this 2013 team. Very talented and tough. Had D1 talent and crapped the bed in the playoffs. I guess I should stop bashing Anderson but it will be refreshing to see something other than student body right, student body left and 2 pasing plays in the whole game.

I agree. Not necessarily any of those 3 in particular but I fully expect Thig's '15 class at LB to be made up of highly rated guys.

It'll be interesting for sure to see if these two are takes for Tennessee.

Jackson should be learning the OT position IMO right now. That is where he needs to be playing his senior season and in college.
