'15 TN DB Cameron Ordway

Just talked to him and he said he is still planning on visiting Tennessee this weekend.
Good. Watching this one go to OSU would sting, especially after the news of Amadi to Ole Miss, Taylor to Michigan and Fields to USC. Would love to get this kid and the two CBs from Norcross, Abernathy and Drayton.

I've lived up here most of my life and I too cant fathom southern kids wanting to come up to Ohio and spend 4/5 years of their life in Ohio and Columbus. And that goes without even factoring the mediocre football that is played in that league on a weekly basis.

“It was a pretty cool visit. I just enjoyed it — all of it,” said Ordway, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 280 overall prospect and the No. 9 player from the state of Tennessee in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.
“I don’t really have a top 10, but especially taking a visit, (Tennessee is) high up there. If I was to make a list, they would be in there, since I visited.
“But there’s a whole lot more visits I need to take before I narrow it down.”
The 6-foot, 174-pound Ordway — who claims 15 total offers after adding an offer Friday from Notre Dame — said the visit gave him a chance to talk with Jones and spend plenty of time with Tennessee defensive backs coach Willie Martinez and linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen.
Ordway said he also enjoyed meeting some of the Vols’ current players, including freshman wide receiver Josh Malone, and watching Tennessee’s NCAA tournament game Friday night against Michigan with players and other recruits.
“It was cool,” Ordway said. “I got to hang out with (Tennessee offensive line commitment) Jack (Jones) and (Top247 defensive end) Kyle (Phillips) and pretty much spent the whole day up there.
“I toured some of the facilities and just pretty much hung out with the coaches all day. (My favorite part was) probably hanging out with some of the players and some other recruits. That was my first time (meeting Malone). He was just telling me about the lifestyle of the campus and stuff, and what practice is like and stuff like that.”
Ordway said he talked with Jones just before the Vols’ second-year coach traveled to Indianapolis to attend Tennessee’s NCAA tournament game. He said he also got some “one-on-one time” with Martinez that allowed him to watch film of the Vols’ current defensive backs.
“(Jones) just told me to call him back again and talk to him more about the visit and how it went and stuff,” Ordway said.
“I talked to Coach Martinez after film and was asking him (about) some of the coverages they run, and what does the safety do or corner do at that position?”
Ordway said he’s planning to visit Ole Miss next weekend, and he “probably” will visit Ohio State and Florida State sometime after that. He said he’s “not sure yet” when he might return to Tennessee, but he plans to visit the Vols again at some point.

"The first thing we did when we got there was we got to meet coach Jones before he left on his flight to the game," Ordway said. "We were talking to him and he was talking to us about playing in Bristol and that would be our (sophomore year) and that they are moving to Nike and how cool that would be. We got to watch film with coach Martinez and some of the defensive backs and after that we just hung out."

"It was cool. When we watch film at high school it's totally different then when they watch film," Ordway said. "I was just enjoying it and taking it in and it was something totally different. I thought I was in college for a second."

"It definitely felt like I was a part of the team already," Ordway explained. "Jack was in my ear like every five minutes, like, 'Commit, commit,' and then sitting with coach Martinez and coach (Tommy) Thigpen and I was sitting with the other teammates that were there and it was like they were just treating me like I was at home and like I was already there.

"I'm just taking it in and enjoying it. Big-time offers like that are what every kid dreams of and not only a big-time offer, but from the national championship team, too," Ordway offered. "I'm definitely trying to go down to Tallahassee and check them out. Hopefully I can get to Notre Dame, too, because I have family up there, too." "I'm taking my time. I've been wanting to commit before the season but if I'm not ready I'll just wait to signing day. But, if I get tired I'll slow it down and commit once I find the right school," Ordway said.
