Kareem Orr
Kareem Orr - Hudl

Monday morning, Duke University became the first program to officially offer Orr a scholarship. Fant was either visited or contacted by coaches from Tennessee and Ohio State last week, and he said he routinely hears from Northwestern, Cincinnati and UT-Chattanooga as well. Each of those programs has invited Orr to their summer workout camps, and all have indicated they will offer Orr a scholarship.

"I went with him to Ohio State's camp last year to video his workouts," said Fant, who played receiver at Vanderbilt. "I saw him going one-on-one against the best players at the camp, and I'm talking about top-10 receivers and running backs nationally, and he only allowed two completions against him all day."

Chattanooga Notre Dame is an interesting school to keep an eye on over the next several years as it seems they are getting more and more talent on the football field.

If I'm not mistaken they have a Lineman that is either a Freshman or Sophomore that is going to be a monster.

Yeah, the economy decimated their talent pool in 08 but they are now back with a vengeance.

I've heard great things about him. His HC played at Vandy so he'll probably try to steer him away from UT. Their people are classless like that. He's certainly worth keeping an eye on as is another Chatt player, Harrison Moon from Signal Mtn HS

Looks like a coverage safety to me. Want level depends on the rest of the board, really. Fits the defense.

Extremely athletic player, however he probably runs in the 4.6 range. More of a safety type IMO. I think very highly of Vonn Bell but in terms of pure coverage Kareem is better in that regard. He hasn't really camped at any of the scouting service's camps at all and I am interested to see how he does and how that affects his rankings. I know OSU is in daily contact. Fant (head coach) is a great guy and definitely would not steer him in any direction and would only push Kareem to make the best decision for himself. Whoever said he was classless obviously doesn't know the man or has been around the NDHS program in recent years.

I haven't followed this one very closely, but you would think that we would have a good chance to land him if we really pushed.

I do not like Vandy but Coach Fant is a first class guy and you obviously have never met him.

I asked a local sports writer in Chatt who has followed his recruitment pretty closely and is pretty close with Orr if we showed interest at this point could we pull him. He said no... Apparently said he wasn't tall enough and we didn't really show him any love, and it kinda pissed him off.

If it pissed him off because he really wanted to be at UT then a late push may land him!!!!

Went to high school and played with him my senior year. Extremely athletic player, however he probably runs in the 4.6 range. More of a safety type IMO. I also am friends with Vonn Bell and trained with him at D1 and I think very highly of Vonn but in terms of pure coverage Kareem is better in that regard. Exactly! Hey GFW, do you know anything about the Darris kid who is their QB and a great kicker and baseball player?
