First for those of you that don't know, the way the rules work in TN for middle schoolers playing in high school is that the schools must share a principal. So if you go to two separate buildings for middle/high school (or most often k-8 and high now) then usually you can't do it. I've read that in baseball and basketball in KY they even let some 7th graders play with special permission, but not football, and the best "talent" I ever played against in high school was a starter in 8th grade for MC kentucky.
anyway, for the kid in the topic.
Saw him live last year when my old school played them. Coalfield has always had some good players but suffered from what all single a schools lacked. depth and competition. This kid throws that belief out the window. I've seen bigger schools with talent overwhelm little schools (and been on the receiving end of it a time or two), but this kid is something special, especially for such a small town. Guys this good this young don't come around often, let alone at a school with less than 400 kids in it. He's a once in twenty years or more kind of talent for a coalfield, oneida, greenback, harriman, midway, etc sized school. Regardless of if he's good enough to start for us until he's a junior or senior (which is most linemen anyway of course) this is the kind of player we need to be getting in TN. He'll be one of the highest rated prospects in the state I'd say, if not the highest linemen, but we've gotta start reeling in these hometown boys. They are the recruits that help rebuild a down program, because regardless of the coach or the previous record, they want to be there. Give me ten of those guys as 3 stars over a wishy washy 5 star like Bryce Brown any day of the week. (No offense to brown just most recent example)
