Kid loves football. He will get reps in the spring and jump start his playing career.
I pray his life gets some comfort and healing soon.
DTO.I had just become friends with his Mom on Instagram. It's such a tragedy and I feel so bad for the whole family. If you know the family please let them know Iam praying for them all.
I don't know them. I did meet a guy through work, who knows the family well. We talk UT football whenever I see him.
Love to see good ol Tennessee country boys playing for UT.Hope Zach can follow that dream one day soon.Never easy loosing your Mom.I lost mine a little over a year ago and I still hurt every day.I miss her but know she's with the greatest choir ever assembled.
I can't imagine. Healing takes different times for different people. I hope he gets back to playing football soon. Not for me, but for him.
Could have used him this fall, IMHO....with Jackson out for good and an injury to Sanders. I always thought Stewart would one of those under the radar kind of guys, that surprise you once he gets on campus. Kind of like Robertson was last year.
He has the perfect size already and athleticism to be a great OT. Might could have plugged him in at LG if not competing for the RT job
Can I ask why people are saying Jackson is out for good/career is done vs. Sanders just being out for the year? Jackson can always have a Medical RS.
Jackson already used his redshirt during a year he was healthy. He won't get another year eligibility because he was healthy and able to participate for 4 years. His college career is over. Sadly.
Sander is just a RS sophomore. He can still play 2 more years.
I thought he could get a medical redshirt. A la Ben Martin from a few years back.
??
What the NCAA looks at is a player being healthy enough to participate for 4 years. In order to get the 6th year, a player must lose 2 years to injury. Jackson was healthy the year he redshirted, so he he was able to "participate." He's not a candidate for another year of eligibility.
Nice sentiment LDTO. When my first wife passed away it was 15 months before i fell apart. When I did, I fell hard. Looking back, I have thought, maybe it would have been better if it had happened earlier, but the fact is.....we have no control over that.
I look forward to seeing Zach play when he is ready.
I wonder what kind of rules are in place to prevent a coach from reporting a bogus injury to issue a medical red-shirt for a player? Seems like a way to write an insurance policy for a kid who was going to red-shirt anyway. Get them an early medical red-shirt, then, if they get a season-ending injury later, they will qualify for a 6th year.
