I'm not mad either, I'm just saying, if it wasn't for his last name, and who is dad is, would he of been offered a preferred walk on spot? I'm sure there are several other 2 star QBs in the state with good size, and a good arm too. How many of those said kids are getting the same treatment?

Like...........Daryl Dickey?

Why be a whiner? Can't offer every kid. Other 2 stars will find schollies at other schools. Glad to have him. May be a good scout team guy who can help that way.

What treatment? His tuition is already paid for due to his dad being on the staff...he's going to be putting in the training and hours of a major program player whilst being practice fodder...you think he won the lottery?

WR? Um, methinks he's primed for a trick play. We've already proven others besides the QB can throw TD passes.

I bet you turn down all perks provided to you at your job so it's "fair" for everyone else!

sorry how are you going to make that judgment based on his stars? bo wallace was a 2 star prospect from tennessee.

why cant we just stay positive? no need to trash a kid who probably could have gone elsewhere. i mean heck i bet florida wouldve taken his call at this point. if not then vandy for sure.

Watch it! With that much common sense, you may get banned for life on Volnation. Congrats to the kid. I hope he tears it up....

Your point is? It is not as though he is getting a scholarship.

If it wasn't for his dad being a coach here, how many people think he would be a preferred walk on? I personally don't. Congrats to the kid either way though.

Article yesterday on TCA Quarterback Kyle Akin who signed with UT Martin - Mr Football in State of Tennesee:

Akin said he had scholarship offers in recent weeks from Mississippi College and NCAA Division II Tusculum College. He also had offers to be a preferred walk-on at Tennessee, Kentucky and Memphis.

Last I checked his Dad was not on staff and he was offered a preferred walk-on - it does happen.

Congrats to Zac - well EARNED !

Yep. Young man could have come to UT without all the work that will be required of him, and chose to play football and be a part of this team.

Anybody think his dad will pony up for his tuition and free up another scholarship?

His brother Brock is an upcoming soph at CAK and I believe the next QB....he was listed at 6'2 160 or so as a freshman.

On Zac, I hadn't watched any of his tape until yesterday and I was very impressed with his accuracy after only playing QB for 2 years....his arm strength looked solid as well. I read an article on him that was very recent that had Zac saying his dad tells him he'll wind up at TE.... lol Good to have another athlete who doesn't take up a scholarship on the roster.
