He's around the same age as Strong...he's a teacher type HC, and he has the same type situation (with much higher upside) as Cutcliffe at Duke. He might have been approached by the search committee from Austin but it would have taken more wrangling than they deemed worthy to pry him from that miracle he has wrought in Waco. He's not a booster schmoozer ala Brown...but neither is Strong. I'm glad Baylor was able to keep him.

No doubt we got lucky. Briles was the only guy TX realistically could hire that could flip back the recruiting momentum from TX AM to TX. Instead AM and Baylor are taking the kids that used to go to TX.

We may have a shot here we already have some of his teammates committed to us. Cedar Hill Pipeline would be awesome.

I hope Baylor hangs half-a-hundred on Texas. Ive said for years that their "top 5" recruiting classes have been overrated.

Happy with Jones so far, but I was pissed we never made a run at Briles during our coaching search. He really has a great setup there at Baylor with his new deal and their new stadium, but I can't even imagine what he could have done at Texas with all the talent Coach Brown pulled in. TU is a playoff contender with Briles at the helm.

Your right its just 1 thought that 2016 CB committ Bailey Phillips was from Cedar Hill but hes for West Mesquite. My Bad but hopefully with miller already gives us a shot at Lodge. I didnt think we would take another wide out with Preston on board unless it was Van Jefferson but it looks like we would take Ryan Newsome or Lodge. Lodge is defiantly a talent you go after no matter what.

Updates... by a Baylor fan.... on a Tennessee forum... about a game thats on TV, for a specific player that we are no longer pursuing and will likely end up at Ole Miss?

His interest is Lodge but we have Miller committed.
