“I went to Tennessee for a camp, and then I went to the Florida game (last year) as well, so I just wanted to get back to see what all the construction did, see what it looks like, and I was thoroughly impressed,”

“Since all the construction stuff, it definitely was better. I got to see the weight room completely finished and meet Coach Jancek, the new defensive coordinator. He’s a great guy. I really, really enjoyed it. He’s a real good guy.

“And then I got a chance to sit in the team meeting room, and it was like a movie theater. It was great. I mean, it was overall a great visit. I really enjoyed myself.”

“I know the staff has recently just gotten there, so it was my first time ever meeting somebody from the new staff,” DeBerry said. “I really enjoyed his company. He’s a really good guy. I really enjoyed him, and he showed me what his plans for me were on his defense. He really wants me to be a Tennessee Vol.

“He said he could see me as an outside linebacker, but in some scenarios I’d be a rush end, so he kind of sees me where I see myself playing.”

“The tradition of Tennessee is great,” he said. “You see a lot of NFL greats that played there, like Jamal Lewis, Peyton Manning, Albert Haynesworth, Arian Foster and Reggie White — all guys like that who played at Tennessee — and the legacy goes on.

He also visited Vanderbilt on Monday, but he didn't have a lot to say about the visit (probably because this is a UT article). He's not sure where he will visit next, but he knows that he will be going to the Clemson vs. UGA game.

He said he definitely going to get up to UT for a game this coming season, but he's not sure which game out of the following games, vs. Auburn, vs. UGA, or vs. USCe. He said he will not make a decision until his senior season.

"It was very, very good," DeBerry said. "I really enjoyed myself. I toured around with coach (John) Jancek. He's a real good guy. You can tell he's really looking forward to stopping offenses this year with his defense and you can tell he knows what he's doing and knows what he's talking about. I got a chance to tour the facilities because I went to camp last year when everything was still being remodeled and there was a lot of construction and everything this time was beautiful and I really enjoyed myself."

"What really stood out to me the most was the nutrition bar," DeBerry explained. "It was really well organized and she did a great job of making sure all the guys had what they need whether they wanted to gain weight, lose weight, become more lean, whatever they needed they had it for them. That impressed me the most."

"He was saying they are trying to turn the program around and bring more national championships to Tennessee," DeBerry offered. "Basically that they have all the tools to be able to do that and they want me to become a part of that."

"I just am really taking it all in and enjoying this. You only get to do this once so I just want to get the full effect and enjoy this while it's here," he said. "I don't want to rush anything because I know a lot of guys commit early and that's not something I want to do. I want to wait it out and make the right decision for me and my family."

Tennessee:*“I loved it. I can’t even put it into words – it was great. I went to a game there last year and I also camped there when all the construction was going on. After seeing everything finished, I loved it. It was the best indoor facility I've ever seen. I got to talk to Coach (John) Jancek, the defensive coordinator. He really wants me to come to Tennessee bad. Finally, I got to meet with the academics staff. Tennessee – it was off the charts. I’ll definitely get to a game there this fall."

Along with Coach London at UVa, DeBerry mentioned that he has developed good strong relationships with coaches from*Clemson, Tennessee, Vanderbilt,*Oklahomaand*Penn State.

Wow sounds like we made a big impression on him. If we get Deberry to go along with Butcher at Dend. Theb if we get Mitchell, Cherry, and Holland at Lb, and plus Amadi at Corner and Rico at Safety that would be a nice start to another solid defensive class.

Knowing the connection between St. Christopher's and UVA don't be surprised if in the end he ends up at UVA. The connection is with all the sports and UVA.

UF offered today according to the reporter about that Miss State letter. Still chuckling about that letter

No quality player is coming here unless it is purely for the love of UT and has nothing to do with this coaching staff.

Bump :)

Edit: didn't realize this was posted when Dooley was still the coach when I bumped it.
