'15 VA DT Tim Settle

Settle & McKenzie are Haynesworth and Henderson part deux.

This has been discussed more than a couple times. We would be quite fortunate if these 2 were anything close to Big John & Al.

Khalil & Settle may be more athletic, but they lack the monstrous size (in comparison) of the aforementioned pair imo.

With the direction the game has moved the last 10 years or so, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, either.

Give me two leaner more athletic and explosive DTs over behemoths any day (not to say Henderson and Haynesworth weren't explosive, but you know what I mean).

I think 300lbs is actually about where Henderson and Haynesworth were as Hs Srs.

This has Settle listed at 317.

According to this he was only 317 when he entered the NFL.

This lists McKenzie at 309. Only 8 lbs shy of Haynesworths rookie weight, as a jr in high school.

Well done. Kind of "settles" that debate. :good!:

Nothing could be finer for Vol football than have two big studs at DT to anchor the D. When you end up with a strong 4 man rotation - well, that's just perfect.

How does it feel to be completely wrong?

What are the last 3 letters in my post? It is my opinion that they don't appear to have the same monstrous size.

Weight isn't everything.

Henderson was 6'7"
Haynesworth was 6'6"

How tall are McKenzie & Settle?

So. To answer your question. Sorry, can't tell ya..

And for the record, I'm not making any statements about McKenzie & Settle.

I hope they're great, and believe they will be.

You're comparing two guys who haven't played their SENIOR season in high school, to the most dominant DT pairing in UT history.

Ask yourself the same thing.

Yes at a comparative time as when H&H were in high school. If you think I'm comparing them to a completed career in college and the NFL. Duh no.

15 years ago, H & H were huge compared to other DL of their time. To me, that's why it's hard to compare. DL and OL are getting bigger all the time.
