We have offered, but 247 said we probably won't go after him, unless something changes. This being a smaller class and we already 3 limebackers committed, they doubted he would be a take at this point.

Who do we have in the fold to replace our serviceable LBs? Reeves-Maybin is going to be a huge loss when he moves on to the NFL.

I haven't heard much from Gavin Bryant, Chris Weatherd, Bates, and Cortez McDowell. Kirkland will be good, but we need the LB position to step up globally in my opinion.

McDowell is a special teams star for us. Weatherd is a senior. Don't forget about Austin Smith and Quarte Sapp. Then we have Blakely, Hart, and Bituli coming in this class.

^Bituli might stay at LB if he stays under 245 but I dont see that happening. Think he's already outgrown the position tbh.

Cool. Yeah I totally forgot about Smith and Sapp. What ever happened to the Bates kid?

He got hurt last year and had to RS. He hasn't gotten much playing time this year, but he's only a RS Freshman, so he still has time.

Bates will be fine I think he is still getting back to himself after the injury last yr. continue to get stronger and he will be fine.

One of the beat writers said Bates had bulked up to play MLB, but has now been moved back to OLB and needs to trim down a bit.

Yeah, I thought to get in to Louisville you first had to go to UGA, get in trouble a couple of times, get kicked off the team, do the obligatory transfer to a JUCO for 1 season, then sign with Petrino at 'ville.
