'16 FL RB Carlin Fils-Aime (Vol commit 7/30/15)

It's genetics bro. Some guys naturally have thicker lower bodies while others are skinny. For example, Reggie Bush spend years in college and nfl weight programs and never developed into an every down back cause he lacked the build.

I don't know why you're so hung up on this. A Sony Michel type player is not a bad thing. It's something this offense desperately needs.

I'm so hung up on this? I made one comment...I think you may be the one that's hung up on a few things.

Never said he's not elite. I just don't think he's an every down back. His legs are too skinny.

I like RBs built like Nick Chubb. Thick legs with power to move the pile and speed to hit the edge. CFA reminds me of Sony Michel. Great back and don't get it twisted I'm glad we have him. However, he's not a lead back. We'll need a Nick Chubb next to him to carry the load and we'll need to use him like Sony Michel.

The same Sony Michel that has effectively been an every down back since Chubb went down???

Michel has averaged just over 22 carries and just over 2 receptions (over 24 total touches) per game since Chubb was hurt.

As a comparison, Chubb was averaging 19 total touches per game over the first 5 games before his injury.

Like he said...not EVERY DOWN.

Its alright, we will just give Carlin the ball every time we need a touchdown. so probably not "every down"

I respect his HS coaches for keeping his mileage down. They could easily run up his stats for the benefit of their program.

Their avg margin of victory is 44.4 ppg; there's no more benefit he could provide. Unless they want to win by 60, that's all that changes.

Carlin "Stick Figure" Fils-Aime or "Sticks" for short.

So now having a Reggie bush is a negative thing? I'd take any skinny legged kid that could have 1/3 the success in college Reggie did.

No doubt. The poster the other day was using that as a knock on CFA because Bush wasn't an every down back in the NFL. If he produces like Bush did in college, we will have a fun time watching him.

That poster's a little off sometimes...and by "sometimes" I mean ALL THE TIME.

Never said having CFA was a negative thing. I just believe he needs a LenDale White next to him like Reggie Bush. Or a Nick Chubb next to him like Sony Michel.

That is no knock. I'm as excited as anyone to have a fast playmaker like CFA on the team. I just think we'll have to pair him with a RB that can run between the tackles.

John Kelly looks like he could be that guy. They don't have to be in the same class.

Makes a lot more sense. Still I don't think Reggie necessarily needed Lendale nor does Chubb need Michel (I know you said this one the other way). If you're a huge talent you don't necessarily need a Robin. Not saying CFA is that though. Michel needs Chubb and Lendale needed Bush, but it's because they couldn't handle being a main back IMO.

A better situation comparing a team that just has a slew of great backs that all compliment each other could be FSU over the last few years. Karlos Williams and Devonta Freeman were both starting quality backs, neither probably needed each other and both could have probably been main backs if the other wasn't on the team.

Also we are kind of somewhere in between IMO with Hurd and Kamara. They are both good but I think they both kind of need each other right now. Maybe by the time they leave they can be in the Williams/Freeman category.

Our offensive line is awful. If we get better play from them, Kelly and CFA will be more than fine.

My thoughts exactly. They might not be as good as Hurd and Kamara, but with a better line, they won't have to be. When their time comes, our line should be among the best in the conference. A more dangerous passing threat will also help open things up for them.
