16' GA ATH/DB Mecole Hardman

I took his tweet to mean that he was not going to keep a silent commitment, but rather he was ready to publicly commit.

Could see that but he has said all along that he planned to silently commit and announce later. Hes now saying he will not silent commit and will not be committing anywhere until NSD.

I will wait for OV to crack the door open a little on his comments before I get excited.

This folks is getting interesting. And from what I have heard the momentum has shifted towards us. Now I have also been told that we are a shoe in to land Hardman but the future sure is looking bright for us in his recruitment

I always thought we get Mecole in the end. He wants to play offense and we've been on him for the longest.

He's Antonio Brown all over again. Butch won't let the next Antonio Brown slip through his fingers.

that is a bad example... you can't hang your entire record on ONE offensive player, even if he is a guy that puts points on the board.... if that were the case with all of our injuries, we could be making excuses to be in the playoff hunt if not for injuries...

Okay, so if Dobbs got hurt at the beginning of the season do you think we would be 7-4 right now?

QB is the exception.... That goes without saying

Why not a running back that averages 200 yds a game and a touchdown or two? With that kind of production, you are looking at a game changer. UGA is a different team without Chubb. I am not trying to defend them. I really dont like UGA.

You have to admit though, there are game changers on the field in positions other than QB. Without the best player on your team on offense, then you lose games you shouldn't regardless of their position.

Not making the argument that it doesn't hurt to lose a RB or WR.... Not arguing that they aren't game changers or that it won't cost you games, but it doesn't derail the whole season like QB.... Point is, you have more talent at those other spots ready to step in that are as good or nearly as good. Not nearly the same hit as losing the QB so you can't compare that to losing a RB. Especially at GA where they had 5 star backups that aren't freshman and were already getting snaps at RB.

If Pruitt leaves then there is some small chance but mama still would probably push UGA as long as Richt is still there. Again I'll mention she works in Athens and Hardman is basically in UGA's backyard. If UGA has total staff change then we have a better shot. All of that is JMO from what I've followed of his recruitment though. I do think he likes UT and if things really are a dumpster fire at UGA then we could have a shot.

Look at Sony's stats vs us that game. Exceeded what Chubb would have done. Imho...Chubb is the least dynamic if the featured backs they have had lately. Very good, but made for the system and an oline like ugas. UT has had major tackling issues over the last 5 years. Sony getting major touches hurt us more than a healthy Chubb would have. Matchups make the fight. Sony types are a bad matchup for us.

Alot of players have gone against mommy's wishes to play for the hometown team. See Landon Collins.

If Mecole wants to be a Vol he'll be one.

Sorry but Chubb is far and away a better back than Michel. Running style be damned, Chubb would have still hit us for 100+ and likely made the outcome much different.

LOL, A lot of players? You mean very very few. Landon Collins was an exception and from what most said he was a Daddy's boy anyway.

Don't get it twisted, he will go to UGA barring something substantial like a complete staff removal and a coach he doesn't like being hired.

Umm...Sony went for 122 on the ground. How much more would Chubb have gotten? Deny it all you want. Style matters.

Look I'm not gonna get into a pissing match with you over where a kid goes for college. None of us know what's he's gonna do.

You choose to believe what you want to believe. I'll believe what I want to believe.

Meh, its not a pissing match. You're entitled to your opinions and I'll respect that but generally kids land where their parents want them to. We'll see in the end and fwiw I hope you're right and he does end up a vol.

Problem is UGA has one guy go down and they are a different team. We had countless guys go down including team leaders like Curt Maggitt and still compete against the Floridas and Bama of the world on their turf. Not our fault that UGA is a one trick pony. Take away the fluke fumble return for a 90 plus yard TD and the punt return and we win going away.

Sony got killed in the second half...... Had like 15 yards after halftime.
