A true Freshman is a true Freshman it's not like he spent the extra two years practicing against college db's. In fact he didn't even get to play most of his Senior season in HS due to age requirements.
The human body keeps maturing even if he didn't play last year. Ridley is a lot closer to his physical peak at 20 years old than an 18 year old freshman like Preston Williams.
There is something to be said for being older as a true freshmen.
To be fair we've got a 20 year old committed.
The Clausens were all held back a year -not for their grades- but by their dad, Jim, who wanted them to all be as well developed physically as they could possibly be as seniors to enhance their chances of getting the best scholarship offers. That may be taking athletics too seriously but it also achieved it's goal and to the people who say that 'a true freshman is a true freshman'? That's just ignorant. Two years at that age is an enormous head start advantage.

Sure hope he don't come just to recruit others somewhere else
Following recruiting is super serious business. We sure are lucky to have you around to make sure we've got our heads on straight and put things in perspective for us, Dobbs4Heisman.Like Drew Richmond?
Some of you are insufferable. Always thinking negatively and assuming the worst. Folks like you DISGUST me.
This kid has been on campus a million times. Shown continued interest and love for the program. What on earth would lead you to believe he would come on campus the week before signing day to behave in such a manner? That's just a sad way to live in this world. Always assuming the worst.
