Stanford doesn't give out offers unless there's a very good chance you can get in there. Anyone Stanford offers should have no problem at all getting into Tennessee.

The question arises then how legitimate is that offer list and did Stanford really offer?

My guess is he has some pretty good grades

Disciplined, contains the play well, knows how to shed blockers to get to the ball carrier, good against the run, will pursue the play from behind. Not an athletic freak like Phillips or D Taylor. I loved the Hudl play where his pressure forced a stupid throw and INT. Having said that, I don't think he has the quickness to be a big pass rush guy at the next level. Looks like more of a specialist on running downs to me.

UF has been recruiting him pretty hard. Likes him as a DT prospect supposedly. Really impressed at FNL.

I've wondered about the offer list and his ranking.

That occurred to me as well. It's possible. I think he could potentially play well there, and we've had some success with that model under Stripling already.

The only thing that gives me pause is the fact that our DT recruiting isn't exactly hurting... We have a lot of talent on campus already, some more good players committed and even more listening. Not sure McDaniel would project to be a factor there, but honestly if there's one coach on this staff who I'd blindly trust on a recruit it's Stripling. His work recruiting and developing defensive linemen has been terrific.

I was able to briefly catch up with Mykelle McDaniel last night and here are a few high points. Tennessee is his leader after his visit on Saturday, followed by Florida and South Carolina.

He really loved his Tennessee visit and they are in the driver's seat it seems. He added he feels like a decision could come soon.

We will definitely be watching this one over the next few weeks and see what his plans are.

I remember awhile back you said we may just wind up getting a DE out of FloridA to flip his commitment. Was it Janarius Robinson and where is he at in his recruitment? I see he's still a hard commit to FSU.

He's still talks up UT...says Vols will get an OV.

Not a solid commit to Noles.
