'16 GA OL Ben Cleveland

Coaches offer based on potential all the time.

OV has seen him in the camp circuit and wasn't impressed. Don't get all butt hurt about it.

Sure they do. I agree but you will rarely see a kid with that kind of offer sheet on "potential" .. not to mention, camp circuit? Well, if he is getting a scholarship just to go around to perform at camps that's fine, but we all know people who have seen him at camps and most STILL don't share the same opinion as OV. Plus, game footage is a lot more important than camp footage, especially for O-Line. No offense meant, it's just not adding up. I'm not "butt hurt" at all, just hate seeing kids get a bad rap because they didn't choose a school which is a lot more likely what's going on here. I defended George Campbell the same way and he isn't even close to a UGA lean. I think George got a bad rap because one "recruiting site scout" saw him have a bad game but totally disregarded all the games he dominated up to that point.

I don't think anyone is angry about Cleveland not coming here. None of us expected it.

He's a big strong guy, that's NCAA ready right now. He's also got footwork issues. Coaches think they can fix it (which they likely can), so they offer.

Do you think Seantrel Henderson was worthy of the hype? Great offer list, big guy, physically ready.

This. Basically the evaluations have been all over the place on the kid. From great size and strength, which is especially a huge advantage on the high school level, to lacking footwork and overall athleticism for a top end OT.

Nobody is knocking him or taking a shot at him. Plus I'm not sure why UGA fans are even on a TN recruiting board..???

Anyone remember Chad Henderson? He was a DL but he had similar hype as a HS sophomore and junior and was so much more physically advanced than kids at his age but by the time he was a senior a lot had caught up to him from the brute strength category.

So I guess the scouts for Texas, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Wisconsin and Clemson among others are all just idiots. Every scout who has seen this kid has said just the opposite as to what OV is saying. Regardless of your opinion, the offers are just because of his size.

Laughable :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Are you suggesting that kids rated highly coming out of high school have never ended up being a bust? I would imagine someone like LWS, who has the stats to back this claim, could prove a lot of major universities offered highly rated busts as well. The only thing laughable is your comprehension skills and blowing something out of proportion that wasn't said. No one said scouts from any of these universities are idiots. Just that it is hard to determine who will translate into a great player in college out of high school. Offensive line is notorious for being one of the more difficult positions to evaluate.

That being said I'm sure this kid looks like a million bucks so far. But let's see how he is viewed after his junior and senior seasons. And Tennessee isn't even in it for this kid, so you and your buddy with Mark Richt in an empty train can take further discussion of this recruit to the Georgia board (assuming there is one).

**** Georgia. That is all...

 Boom!! Still funny to me how many rival fans are on this board (some of them bring good info, which is appreciated). I barely have time to keep up here with my team, much less going to other teams' sites.

It's because our forum is better than any of theirs and they get better info on their team's arrests here. Oh...and **** Georgia! :hi:

Kid needs to take a pee test... he's not naturally built that way. Color me skeptical.

Also, Toccoa, Georgia is the equivalent of like Cosby, TN. Does he even play against even somewhat quality competition or just wee little mountain folk? I know he recently went to a camp and impressed visually, but I don't know how he performed so I don't have all the info on the kid.

I'd take OV's evals over any of those guys. When he's a bust, best believe I'm bumping this thread.

This threa reminds me of Jac McClendon (sp). That guy was literally too strong for his own good. He would have been a better footballer had he not sacrificed his agility for strength, and probably would have panned out better in the NFL.

Anyhow, despite the footwork issues, this guy is an amazing prospect, and, as much a we respect OV, we would all be stoked to have this guy

Yeah, there's no way he won't be at least a great run blocking beast

I dont.think his foot work will be that big of a deal.First hE is what 15 or 16.So his cordination probably hasn't caught up too his body yet.Second he will be a road grader at guard.Ov is probably spot on with his evaluation but the kid is still young. Last thing and I hope it's not true he does look a little chemically enhanced.Shame on the parents of this kid if true. He's way too young for the juice.
