It was a weird hire. Fan base was excited because we had him back but skeptical because you knew he would probably jump at the first offer to be a head coach. Looks like Travaris Robinson will get the offer. He played at Auburn and is a great recruiter so it should help save some recruits that Muschamp had a hand in landing. As far as defense on the field, that's the million dollar question

Kind of a risky hire for Malzahn, isn't it? He is on the hot seat next year, and he is going to promote someone to DC who has never been a DC? Maybe I'm wrong on that, but I don't think TRob has been a coordinator before.

He hasn't, you're correct. It is risky but I think Malzahn is betting on himself next year since he will have a dual threat QB again. I think he thinks he can score enough points with our juco QB recruit that Robinson won't have to pitch shutouts and he can keep our class together. I am no insider, nor anywhere close to it, so all of that is a guess

Signing a guy who transfers after a few months isn't gonna be the way we fix our o line. Especially if he has to sit for 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Now if he really has some issues going on then it's understandable. Maybe he could win an appeal to play in 2017 as well.

I would be surprised if Tennessee had any interest here. He's had all kinds of off-field issues dating back to High School and apparently at USC as well. My guess would be a school that tends to be willing to take anyone and turn a blind eye to this type of stuff would be a more likely choice... A South Carolina / Auburn type school.

I was reading some rumors about it the other day. Apparently after the incident (not sure if a punch was thrown) Helton told the entire team, which ever players want to leave - give him the papers and he'll sign them off. Supposedly Chuma Edoga has requested a transfer since then. He's probably headed to UGA as well if that's the case.

With Juju smith and Adoree Jackson gone next year plus all these potential transfers, USC is going to be in some major doo-doo. This is what happens when you go with the cheap hire...

Somehow...someway.....you'll find a way to blame this on UT's coaching staff and Maleik Gray.
