'16 GA WR/DB Marquez Callaway (UT commit 1/21/2016)

And what receiver do we have that you would compare to Ridley? Our weapons are the running backs and that is who the offense last year was designed to get the ball to.

Our WRs aren't garbage talent wise. You can't tell me our top WR having only 38 catches shouldn't raise an eyebrow. We don't have one guy who can get 50% of Ridley's catches? Come on now with that.

I'm not saying that the passing game was great, or even good. I'm saying that the "9 receiver rotation" thing just isn't accurate, regardless of what the coaches say.

The receivers could get better, sure, but the passing game is on Dobbs. He just can't throw consistently. He doesn't see guys when they're open.

Dormady, or whoever the guy is in 2017 will be better at that.

Even Peyton Manning said during his interview in our game versus Bama that it's hard on a QB throwing to a different set of guys every week. Lack of continuity will throw a QB off for sure.

Again, did we ever roll out a different starting 3 once the season rolled around? I vaguely remember Jennings getting slowly phased out. But other than that, I don't think we did. Malone, Pearson, Smith, those were our main guys and the three I remember out there most of every game. Injuries man. Injuries took out two starters preseason, and three at at least some point.

The essence of the point still stands though... that playing lots of guys can adversely affect things.

Johnathan Johnson played a lot. And Jennings played a lot in every game.

If our defense is as good as I think it will be then our receivers will have much better numbers. If the defense causes more 3 and outs, then the offense should get another 4-5 possessions a game. The offensive line should also be better, giving Dobbs more time on passing plays. This will also be Debords second year coordinating this offense. All these factors should translate into much greater numbers passing and rushing. If injuries are limited by our top WR's we should have at least one guy with 60+ receptions this year, and Hurd should have 1500+ rushing yards. Kamara should have 1200+ all purpose yards.

Not to beleaguer the topic but if we have a stout defense, like we think, no way we the throw the ball MORE. Quite the opposite IMO.

That's why I think if a QB knows exactly where a certain WR will be all the time he's less likely to be late on a throw. JMO

True, the more familiar with one another (QB-WR nuances) the better, but Jones regularly plays and rotates 3 to 4 and up to five receiver sets. Seems conflicted
