Umm..don't think distance gas anything to do with it. Austin is a long way from Loueasyyanna. Without looking it up, I would say it is not much closer than Knoxville.

It's gonna be significantly closer to Austin than knoxville. It's still far, but knoxville is probably 500 more miles.

Hmm..no. Knoxville is 595ish and Austin Texas is 520ish miles from New Orleans Louisiana. Geography not your strong suit? JK.

Nawlins to Austin is 511 miles... 590 to Knoxville...
I couldn't believe it would be that close

Sorry my maps search says it is 519 miles from New Orleans to Austin...didn't mean to be a prick about it. It is just funny to me how people don't realize how freakin big and geographically varied Texas is.

We good... I thought Austin was further east than it actually is. I was very surprised how close the distance is. The reason being, I drive down to LA 3-4 times a year to see friends, and it's 533 miles and an 8hr drive from Nashville...

Texas is geographically an amazing place. I lived in Amarillo/Pampa area for 8 years, and D-FW for 2 years growing up. I love Texas.

Think about it...The northwest tip of the Panhandle is only 45 miles from Colorado. The southeast tip is the Bayous of Loueasyanna.

Shouldn't. Yes, a lot of people said the LSU got him to decommit as that's what he wanted all along. Him not having UT even in his top 10 after and saying he just couldn't see himself happy in Knoxville tells me even without an LSU offer he wasn't going to be a Vol.

Once the offers came in, whether from LSU or a school closer to home the realization sets in. I'm always suspect on the out of state guys, distance is a factor and it doesn't matter which school it is. I think LSU might have coaches visiting him today. It does appear that he wants to play closer to home, can't say the Texas schools are that much closer though.

Both the 2017-18 Semifinal Game and 2019-20 Championship Game will be in New Orleans. The Vols will play in both. Just saying.....

Texas has a lot going for it. It has its own beauty as well. It is not as green and lush as TN, but I have learned that there are other types of nature that are beautiful. It has a coast and it stretches all the way up to almost CO.
