'16 NC OG Landon Dickerson

Dickerson taking a OV to Bama 1/22.... what a signing day nightmare it would be if Bama gets Brown, Warrior, Dickerson, and Hardman:(

Really hope that Butch can get him on campus on 1/29 to have the last official. If he shows up that weekend, then I think we have a very strong shot of signing him.

florida state and tennessee are considered the favorites to sign the nation's no. 5 offensive tackle landon dickerson as he arrived monday for the under armour all-american game monday.

Out of hudson (n.c.) south caldwell, the 6-foot-5, 293-pound dickerson told 247sports insider luke stampini at check-in he'll his remaining official visits to florida on jan. 15 and alabama on jan. 22 with georgia and tennessee battling for the final visit jan. 29. He already took his official to florida state in october and auburn over thanksgiving in november.

247sports ranks dickerson as the no. 22 recruit overall.

I could see Bama landing Dickerson and Warrior realistically.

Yeah bama is in a whole other universe. Freaking ridiculous how good they have been and will be as long as Saban is there. And we have to play them twice if we get in the SEC championship... bad luck

We should just disband the football program until he retires IMO

“I know that Florida State and Tennessee will be at that final table,”
Dickerson said Tennessee and Georgia currently are battling for his final visit the weekend before signing day.

“Tennessee’s kind of leading that right now, obviously, because they’ve been in it for a long time, and Georgia with that new coaching staff,” he said.

"It's between Georgia and Tennessee," Dickerson said of his last official visit destination. "I'll just sit down and talk with my family. I’m leaning more towards Tennessee right now, but obviously because Georgia has a new staff. So, I’ll have to decide between that.”

“I don’t know if I’m looking to see anything as it’s more of – I’ve always been told if you actually consider going to a school somewhere you should take an official visit there,” Dickerson said. “So, I guess it would just be to get with the players.”

“I wouldn’t say I would have moved on. It’s a great program,” Dickerson said. “I’m just basing it on that I’ve seen everything there because after eight or nine visits I don’t know that an official visit is necessary.”

“He actually called me last night and he’s called me a couple of times before now,” Dickerson said. “He’s a really good coach and he did good things at Arkansas. He sees a need for good offensive linemen to come in and play.

“Right now, he wants me to come in and play center,” Dickerson explained. “He told me, ‘If you think about it the center and the quarterback are the only people guaranteed to get the ball on every play. That was his sales pitch.”

Florida State has also been a school that is a real factor with Dickerson after he took an official visit to Tallahassee in the fall.

“Florida State (visit) was my first time down there,” Dickerson told Mike Farrell on Monday. “It was a great visit and especially getting to know coach Fisher and coach Trickett in person was a great experience. And an awesome game when they beat Miami and it was a great experience.”

“I really do like coach Trickett. He’s probably one of the best relationships I have with coaches and I think that might be a big part of it. I probably call him more than any other coach. Me and him have matching personalities. I think that’s why people probably think that. I don’t know if I would put them as my frontrunner just because there’s some other variables there, especially distance with my family. That’s one thing we’ve talked about is distance. I think they’ve gotten over that. It’s just one of those things people try and find more information.”

“I like what coach Jones has been doing and then coach Mahoney is a great guy,” Dickerson said. “They’ve obviously worked their way from the bottom and proved themselves over the last few years. I’ve seen that growth and it’s not something that’s, ‘We’re going to be here next year.’ They’ve come and showed out.”

“It might be crunch time but I’m just chilling out, really,” Dickerson said. “I’m just going to enjoy this game and this week and then think about it when I have to think about it.”

The fact that he does not know if us or Georgia will get his final OV, concerns me, even if he does decide to use it here. I would think that if we are leading or neck and neck with another team, they always get an OV. I am hoping it is like he said, that he has just visited here enough times to know. Btw, was he talking about Arkansas and their coach at one point in interview? It was worded kind of weird like not sure where conversation/question was before his response.
