That's how you know how ridiculous (IMO) things have gotten. We're worried about a kid just barely starting his junior year not being rated high enough. Just two classes ago rivals wouldn't even start rating until after the signing day of the preceding class. If you watch this kid and see what he's doing you'll know it's just going to take time until he blows up. Even if he doesn't, who cares? Nevermind. I know who cares.

The past 2 teams he has played against are terrible. This week game will be more of a test.He might get to play a whole game.

We've had three different head coaches last three years, so you know what that can do to a team. We play a Burns team whose quarterback and several starters transferred to Crest, so I don't expect Burns is at full strength this year with a new coach also. BJ loves contact and can play grind it out up the middle just as well as using his speed on the outside. One big difference this year is he is not playing safety and he's rested. Our schedule gets tougher when conference play starts.

Wow didnt know about the transfers to Crest. Still Burns will be formidable. Look for freedom to keep rolling though. Mtn93 this kid is a 5 star back. man i hope we get him. perfect fit.

Yeh even against poor competition thats just crazy. Just another laughable ranking by the recruiting gurus. I trumped fraiser as the top back in NC and one of the best in tha nation last winter and was laughed at by many. Emmons has more potential than Fraiser.

Griddie,

I don't agree with you on Rocky Reid but I do on Emmons. He looks like the real deal to me. Hope we can lock him up soon.

Good, they have a walkthrough today, he's excited, he's a junior, backup de, he's getting lots of reps though. Size wise he's 6'2" 210, they switched him from left tackle.
My middle son is jv, they play tonight at home, he may get to start a qb, so good times!

Postponed due to heavy thunderstorms and lightning, play it on Monday night. Hope to get varsity in tonight. I'll give an update on how they do. Burns is being too gracious, hope we're ready.

This from the shelbystar.

The fourth quarter turned into the BJ Emmons show for Freedom. For three quarters, Burns had kept pretty close watch on the Patriots’ tailback but the worn down Bulldog defenders saw the 6-1, 215-pounder run for three touchdowns the rest of the way and top the 200-yard mark in rushing for the night.

“We wanted to test No. 5 (Emmons) and he passed it with flying colors,” Senseney said. “He got stronger in the fourth quarter and that’s the sign of a good running back. Emmons’ 33-yard scoring run with 11:23 to play in the game – coming off a interception by Freedom’s Rodney Thompson – pulled the visitors even at 14.

Then Emmons found the end zone on a 32-yard sprint with 9:06 to go for a 21-14 lead. His 21-yard scoring romp put the contest out of reach with 28-14 to go.

What a gutty win for the Patriots. I knew it would be tough as bleep on the road at Burns. Got to admit i was a little worried when it was 14-0 mtn93. huge win though, the type that can really carry over to a special season.

BJ is the very one that made it happen, they spied him all night had the safety crashing in, but second half he gathered his linemen, and told them they were better than this, give the blocks I'll give you the touchdowns. He had a couple spin moves last night that were wicked. He took a little bit of a beating but he did get stronger in the fourth. We had some very questionable calls that hurt us , but in the end BJ willed them to victory.
