'16 NC RB BJ Emmons

We have to hope he is a 2019 recruit. If he is 2018, then I don't see us having room for him. We have 4 spots left with Jaycee Horn and Jerome Carvin being held available. That means 2 spots for a DE and WR. The only way we can take Emmons as a 2018 is if Horn and or Carvin go elsewhere. I am just not sure a 3rd RB is a big priority compared to OL, DB, DE and WR.

Wait, you think every recruit listed on our commitment list right now becomes a part of our final class? That would be about as probable as me winning the Mega Millions lottery. It's August.

They said on the podcast if he's a '19 recruit, they will pursue hard but if he's an '18 recruit they will "keep him warm" in case something happens with Dixon or Grant. A lot will happen between now and NSD, my guess is if he's in the '18 class they find a way to make room.

How is his class even in question, though? What possibilities exist that would make him a 2019 guy?

I am thinking it's not as simple as just attending a JUCO for a year and then you are eligible to go anywhere you please. Pretty sure there's fairly new stricter requirements on JUCO's and entering in a JUCO in August means that he is gonna have a tight window to fit everything in to be eligible by next summer.

He could elect to sit out this year and play JUCO next year. It's possible that he doesn't have his academics in order to be able to come out of JUCO and enroll at an SEC school.

Well, he had an entire a endemic calendar at Bama too, and if I'm not mistaken, he made the honor roll or something according to ejb8201(?).

I'd think between a year at Bama and a year at JUCO, he'd have enough credits to graduate and come back to D1 football. Maybe he took 2 semesters of fluff courses at Bama and would need a lot of core class work to finish up at JUCO in 1 year.

Could Bama have let him go with the provision that he wouldn't be eligible as soon if he went to another SEC opponent? I've forgotten the rules regarding transfer, release, etf. I would think since he went juco it would be unconditional.

Bama can block him from going on scholarship for a calendar year and they can list certain schools if they choose. But he has to sit a year anyway. That's why he is going Juco. He can go anywhere he wants next fall.

We push hard and make room for him period. We do not have a big power back, which is needed in the SEC to be successful. Should be a no brainer, but it may take the first four games this season for Butch to see this. I love Kelly and Co, but we need size sometimes going against SEC linemen and LBs at times to get that first down or create that 2nd down and 4 because he powered his way for 6 up the middle....

You must not have seen Kelly's one handed grab in practice.

I saw Kelly's one handed grab and it was impressive. But it has been stated by coaches on a couple of occasions that all the freshmen are doing well as receivers out of the backfield, but Coleman is the most natural receiver of all the running backs. CFA is the least.
