FWIW, I know most of you don't follow OSU recruiting much but the word is that Urb was on the phone with Tristen Wallace (Texas DT QB) the very evening after JG left from his OSU visit.

Of course I don't know what was said, but one can draw conclusions one way or the other!

Just watched his hudl highlights. Kid moves pretty good in the pocket, quick release, strong arm, seems to have good speed, scrambles well, and seems pretty accurate on the run. What's not to like.

I only saw a few things that were questionable. He relies on his arm strength a lot by trying to out throw the coverage. Even though he does seem to throw deep ball good, a wr 50yrds down the field shouldn't be your check down, haha. He threw late into coverage a good bit, but again thats because kid has confidence in his arm strength. That could go either way at times. His 3/4 almost sidearm delivery is what stood out the most to me.

There is definitely more good than questionable with this kid, and the iffy stuff that I pointed out could easily be fixed with coaching (except the delivery part that's hard to re-teach. Just ask Tebow.) I think he could be a good one.

I'm late to this thread so I'm not sure if anyone had mentioned it, but at first glance he reminds me a lot of Colin Kaepernick*. Hope we land him.

Anyone know how we're looking with him?

Meyer got him one. He's a definite OSU lock. This one hurts bc we were close at a time with him. I wish Butch could just pull some top talent like him sometimes.

That sucks, I wish I didn't watch his film now. He looks legit. I was really impressed by his pocket presence. Looks like cum got him a good one.

My sarcasm meter sucks, so I'm not sure if your messing with me.

Per Hubbs

Tennessee's top recruiting priority remains landing a quarterback and that search has continued to focus on New Jersey signal caller Jarrett Guarantano.

Guarantano spent several days this week on Ohio State's campus and heading into the visit all signs pointed to Tennessee being the team to beat. But, since Guarantano's midweek visit to see the Buckeyes information has been hard to come by.

From what we've gathered in talking to people close to the situation no one feels like the Buckeyes were able to lock up the four-star standout during the visit, but we've also been told it was a productive trip.

Was it enough to overcome Tennessee? We haven't had anyone tell us that, but again, Guarantano and his family weren't talking to many following the visit to Ohio State.

However, those close to Jarrett did tell us that one person he spoke with this week was Vol offensive coordinator Mike DeBord. In fact, Guarantano and DeBord have connected pretty well going back to DeBord's first days on the job in Knoxville.

But again, no one is saying anything certain at this point. What we're comfortable in saying is those close to Guarantano really like the idea of him playing in Knoxville, but the decision will be Jarrett's and with a decision scheduled for April 15 we should be finding out soon what he wants to do.

Just using a lot more words to say he enjoyed his visit but nothing changed.

The only part of his quote that I did not like to see is when he says that they cannot get in touch with anyone directly connected to his recruitment. It seems that sometimes those words are used for someone who is changing his original decision.
