I don't mean this the way it is going to come out but...

I love how package deals definitely aren't a thing, until they involve Tennessee's recruiting. Then, they are absolutely a thing that happens all the times.

We are some homers folks. GBO.

To be fair, it was recruiting analyst Mike Farrell who brought up the possibility, not just Tennessee message boarders. Doesn't make it so, but the idea wasn't born here and is in national media, so I think discussion is reasonable, regardless of glasses tints.

I don't even think Farrell said the words "package deal". It was simply stated that Gaurantano is an influential personality and if he leaves NJ he may be able to encourage others to join him.

Of course we all know he is coming to UT and bringing all his 5* buddies with him.

Why would you do that? The world is a much uglier place without a nice shading of orange around it.

He can borrow mine.

Possibly, even more likely (Since Walker is already committed to OSU), that Walker could pull JG over to OSU.:eek:hmy:

Walker committed in January. Momentum for Jarrett to UT is much more recent. Things are obviously trending our way with the entire state of NJ.

I have a feeling this guy will be a Vol. I think it's going to come down to us and UGA for the number one class.

With Falcon committing to Michigan out of nowhere yesterday, I wonder if the staff cooled on him and thinks they will more than likely land Walker after his buddy Guarantano commits.

Ya I think the staff heard from Walker that he wants in with Guarantano and they basically told Falcon to kick rocks. 6.1s everywhere.

There is apparently an ESPN article with quotes saying he is dis-illusioned with Ohio for not being truthful, haha.

It'shappening.gif

Here are some of the highlights from that article.

When ESPN junior 300 running back Kareem Walker first committed to Ohio State, he thought he would be the only running back in the class and Stan Drayton would be the running backs coach. Nearly three months later, neither statement is the same.

“The coaches told me that Coach Alford said they would use DeMario McCall like Jalin Marshall, as an H-back, but when I was talking to [George Hill], he said he wanted to play running back,” Walker said. “Everybody is saying they’ll be the slot guys and I’ll be the running back. You have the No. 1 running back and you take three backs in my class.”

Walker says he isn’t going to make any decisions right now, but he does want to sit down with his coach to talk about the impact of the other two prospects and if he should make any tough decisions in the near future.

Being so highly ranked, he has heard from close friends who are now playing college football and opposing coaches trying to recruit him. His friends have told him to make sure he thinks things through and coaches are hoping he considers their school.

Walker recently took a visit to Rutgers and says he doesn’t have any other visits planned as of yet, but will be taking visits in the future. He has recently heard from Alabama, Arizona State and Penn State, but is still committed to Ohio State.

“Right now I’m just trying to stay positive with everything. That’s what I’m trying to do the most is stay positive,” he said. “I’m not really too worried about competition.”

His desire to be the only back in a class won't fly here either. That's the only thing that worries me, cause I see us taking at least 2.

Or maybe it's just that he was promised to be the only back and then that changed. If we are upfront with him about needing to take two backs it'll probably go smoother.

With that said though Nationdom said he feels good about this one so my feelings on it are dramatically dropping.

Considering he doesn't even mention UT in the ESPN article, I'm gonna guess you are wrong.

Perhaps. His comment saying you have the #1 RB in the nation and you take 3, sounds like he feels no one else is needed. But we'll see. If he's willing to sacrifice a potential NC at OSU to stay home and be the man at Rutgers we'll know.

Top 2016 OSU Commit Considering “Other Options” (Per Report)

No idea how accurate this story is, but I found this interesting considering the comments from Mike Farrel this week.

This comment...lol

"Bad news Buckeyes. He will NOT be going to OSU when it’s all said and done. Simple result of the Meyer oversigning philosophy. Plus, there is a movement in NJ right now with the top players staying home. Jarrett Guarantano will be the first domino to fall to Rutgers and many others will follow. I understand thinking I’m just an RU fan popping off. Not the case. I’m involved in HS football in NJ and I can tell you the possibility of a decommit is over 50%."
