JoeJuan named Top Defender at the recent NPA Showcase in Clarksville

1. JoeJuan Williams, CB, Hendersonville (Tenn.) High School
Williams is so big and fast that he can get away with being extremely aggressive at the line of scrimmage. Though he's clearly in a safety's body, Williams absolutely has the cover ability to be a cornerback in the right system. Though he's not ready to publicly list any favorites, USC is close to offering and that would be a big one for him.

We will NEVER be out of a recruiting battle until the papers are signed, as long as CBJ is our HC and is winning games to back it up. We got lucky and landed an ace recruiter as our HC.

I will learn one of these days to never count us out. But I truthfully thought we wouldn't land this kid.

It has took some time but we're finally winning these head to head battles with Auburn and the like.

After getting his first offer from the Vols in May 2014, he visited them three or four times in a span of about three months before his current drought of about 10 months without a UT visit. Tennessee is recruiting him really hard, he likes the Vols, and he already feels pretty comfortable with them.

I would be surprised if UT isn't at least a strong contender all the way to the end of his recruitment. Much like with Kyle Phillips last year, Williams likes other teams, too, and is going to take his time making a decision. But Tennessee is a major factor in this one and isn't going away any time soon, in my opinion.

Butch and his staff have been doing a awesome job on our instate kids. Hopefully putting together a good season will guide our top instate kids to stay home and be a part of something special in the future.
