Kid is blowing up. Now a 4* in the 247 composite, 8th ranked player in the state, and 10th ranked MLB nationally. In the overall rankings, they have him as the 224th ranked player nationally and 295th in the composite.

Seems like the kind of commitment that might not stick. Early in the process (just starting to get attention and major offers) to a school a long way from home. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see this one take some more twists and turns.

Given we have DK Jr for four years, I say unless he's another DK Jr we won't pursue all that hard. Other positions are more pressing. Not meaning this to marginalize TD but the vibe is we have our future MLB on campus. Yea yea depth....

I agree we don't have many spots and MLB isn't a necessity this class. I'm Leary of the ones that get bumped based off one camp performance. I'd like to see them perform multiple times including games before making them a priority. We dont have many spots left when we plan to take 3 more WRs, 2 RBs and likely 2 Safteys

We got some options at MLb. bates is cross training MLB and OLB. Not really sure what Jakob is doing. Roster list him as DL but he always get mentioned in MLB talk. I wonder if Elliot could grow into one because he is very intelligent in football schemes.

I know Bituli is a top target that's listed as OLB but looks like he could do MLB too.

Elliot Berry is gonna be like Ellix Wilson. Had just better players ahead of him but when he got his chance Senior year he was like too 5 in SEC in tackles.

Funny thinking about Ellix. I remember watching a hype video for the 2008 team and it was practice footage. Ellix made some stellar plays and the coaches got pumped. Fulmer chimed in and then said "now who is that #35?"

Centennial is my alma mater. Would be neat to see a kid from there get to play for UT. We never had a good team when I was in HS.
My sister was a freshman when the school opened. We moved to Texas before I started HS though.

I really want this kid now. Hoping he doesn't shut things down.

I graduated in '99 but only attended Centennial for my Junior and Senior years.

Wow. She graduated in 2000. I'll leave it at that, as I don't want things to get too weird. But it's crazy how much that area has grown. I wouldn't be surprised to see them continue to produce SEC players. That whole area, really.

Heard this kid interviewed on 104.5 the Zone in Nashville this morning. Sounded like a kid with a good head on his shoulders. Very polite and well spoken. Good luck to him in the future. Hope he has success against everyone but the Big Orange.

I graduated from CHS in 14. It was only in like 2012 that the administration started to give a damn about athletics.

The football team has produced two SEC caliber players two years in a row, so I can only imagine it will get even better.

6'2 238

4.6 40.

Nice pick-up Aggies.

If Chavis likes him that says a lot.
He'll probably be All-SEC.

Just like Kirkland. Oh well... we can't have them all.

UT is still in talks with TD and he's not 100% closed the door. The thing is they can't continue to slow play guys and offer others and think everybody is gonna say oh yeah UT offered so now I'm committing. I promise you guys this, TD is the best LB in the state and plays big boy ball and makes plays on both sides of the ball, doesn't run from competition at camps, and so on. In today's new times if a kid like Banks can get an offer and is below marginal with all 1AA offers, a legit D-1 MLB should at least have an offer. Now whether you take him or not that another issue.

As far Banks... you know... they liked what they saw at the time, but projected him wrong. Genetics are a tricky thing lol. That's why I'm not a big fan of offering guys before they are even sophomores. Too much development to be had in that next year..

Dodson is noticeably better than Bitulli or Hart. It's a fine line in recruiting from year to year. We have Kirkland. Bynum is a heady older guy. Bates is cross training and will be valuable at both spots along with special teams. So when you consider this, and the fact we have limited numbers this year, you have to take your time with who you offer.

With that said... I WANT DODSON. He's the real deal. Great range and just looks like a natural linebacker. Not to mention great feet and suddenness for a man that size.

In my opinion... Kirkland is the only real modern MLB we have. We need to continue to recruit the position.
Dobson reminds me of Tim Dobbins out of Nashville Glencliff who played with the Iowa State and the San Diego Chargers.

Bynum
Bryant
Bates
Jumper are all missing something.

Bates is the one that is kind of out of his element, but he has the capacity to adjust. He's more of safety actually... as far as his game. He has to get healthy and then provide depth and eventually move back to OLB where he can really help us.

Got to see this kid play the other night and thought he looked great. Had one bonehead play at the RB spot.
Hope the door isnt closed on him. There was also another kid on the team forgot his name, #9 I think. He looked good too and was bigger than TD. Not sure if he is a prospect or not.
