Local East,TN product from Sweetwater. He is 6'6 and 310 lbs. Coach Mahoney stopped by for a visit yesterday at his high school. He has already made a few visits to UT and is a VFL. Definetly one to watch in the coming years. I suspect he will be a VOL lock as soon as he gets an offer.

Fun Fact: His grandfather played for General Neyland. Was on the '56 Sugar Bowl team with Johnny Majors. So he is also a legacy for '16.

There is a picture of him with Tiny on his Twitter...the 6'6 is legit.

Twitter: @BaileyByrum give him a follow.

Yeah, he is a freshman. And that's true. A lot of time to develop. Time will tell how good he is. But it would be great to have a Sweetwater kid playing for the big orange no doubt!

My concern would be with his power. Yes, he is a FR in HS I get that. A 225LB max bench at 330LBS is a big worry IMO.

Not really when you remember he's around 14 years old. Man that's a trip to think about. 14 and over 300 lbs. I'd expect him to be kind of uncoordinated and accident prone. Like I was going thru a growth spurt at that age. Man were going to be offering seventh graders before long

Heck fire bruh. They told me I couldn't even lift weights till I was a freshman. 4 years in a high school S&C program, with even a decent work ethic will probably see him benching 300-350 easily. It probably won't take anywhere near 4 years for him to get there.

I get that he is young. I also get that if a kid is 6'6 and 300+lbs and a possible D1 football recruit, he should be lifting well before his FR year in HS. I know I was lifting(way back when) to be ready for 7th grade football. :p

He will probley add 100 lbs to his bench between now and next year. The flat feet bother me though. He can improve some but its hard to over come being flat footed.Lots of big kids out there but the ones that can move are the ones that play in the sec.I wish the kid all the luck in the world. Some body needs to get him a jump rope and tell him to jump every day.

Yeah, I don't know what they tell them now-a-days. I just know that as a skinny as a rail WR, I went from a 90 pound max on the bench, to 225, and I had terrible plateaus and didn't know jack about nutrition or recovery.

Brotha gonna be alright. :hi:

Yeah, I've been told he's very flat footed. And I am as flat footed as they come, and I have always suffered from it, especially when it comes to moving quickly and running and balance. It complicates things quite a bit. I've often thought about having surgery done to put an arch in my foot, just because it does hinder you in some ways. But I don't think this kid will have a problem with strength. It's just will he be able to master the footwork needed for butch's blocking scheme.

Just for clarification, there is two types of flatfootedness (yeah, I just used that word) and you have mentioned both in this post.

1. Medical condition with low/fallen arch in foot.
2. Slow feet.

Which does our friend have?
