Trust me, anyone with this much determination & drive would not be easily offended & would pick the secondary of anyone who underestimated his abilities apart !!! Hope he gets a chance to compete at the college level !!! This guy has the character to be successful in whatever sport he chooses to play & would make a good role model for others !!!

I coach at Sequoyah (basketball and baseball) which is Sweetwater's biggest rival and have the upmost respect for this kid. Not only is he the starting QB, but he also is their best pitcher on the baseball team, and plays varsity basketball too. He is a great kid with a outstanding attitude, and true competitor. Truly inspirational when you think about what he has had to overcome in order to play the games he loves.

As a rival coach, you're never supposed to pull for your biggest rival, but whenever this kid makes a good play, or has a good game even against us, I'm grinning ear to ear on the inside because of the respect I have for DJ. Always do our best to beat them at all costs, but always want to see this kid play well.

Love this!

Sure. I didn't mean it be be offensive. Just pointing out his accomplishment.

You're not being offensive. You're stating the obvious and informing the board of why this entire story has any real interest for the board. This kid isn't living in some altered reality where he acts like he has two normal legs until someone points out the obvious.

You did absolutely perfect. Thanks.

Would one legged man in an a** kicking contest be offensive? I bet he would laugh about it

He plays for my alma mater and I've only heard great things about the kid. Hope to make it to a few games this year to see he and OL target Bailey Byrum play.

It's 2015. Everything offends everyone.

Reported. It is offensive to think that everything offends everyone.

I saw one of those bumper stickers today that spells out "TOLERANCE" in a variety of symbols from different religions and it was all I could do to not get up underneath them and put them in the ditch. Sorry for the rambling cool story bro moment.

Can we take "(with prosthetic leg)" out of the title and treat him like a normal person...

He's not a normal person. He's very inspirational. Without the title, people might not click on and realize how amazing this really is.

I thought normal people had two legs. I must be mistaken.

People have two legs....one leg.....no legs.

What eye or hair color do you think makes a person normal.

IMO, normal people don't make stupid comments like you did.

I made the comment that the guy deserved some recognition for accomplishing things with 1 leg that people with 2 don't. Explain the stupid part please.

Nope. You are correct. I didn't realize you were the one that said the other too. The post I quoted in and of itself doesn't look like that's what it means. With your other post, it makes more sense.

My bad. :hi:
