When I first saw his thread, not real interested. After watching his highlights against S Panola, kid appears to be a player. S. Panola is a powerhouse program with a national reputation, and anybody that puts up that type of highlight film against them is definitely a player. The possibility of being two sport player could help with scholarship numbers as well. Will be keeping an eye on this one for sure.

If I'm not mistaken 2 sport athletes are always counted towards football provided its one of the sports so it could help basketball numbers but not football

Yeah, I knew there is a pecking order on how scholarships are applied for two sport players, just not sure of all the details. If his scholarship counts towards the football team, I hope he focuses on football and is more of a backup in BB. Of course, this only applies if he were to actually play both.

I believe that is in some circles known as the Bear Bryant rule. I was told he had several football players on scholarships designated for other sports. Whether or not they actually played those sports, I have no idea.

If a player is on a football scholarship, he may play another sport as long as he continues to play football. If he stops playing football, he must be given a scholarship for the other sport/s or pay his own way.

Article on Bama's 247 about what Mitchell thought about the offer. Really doesn't seem interested in UT yet. Hopefully that changes. Obviously it is a Bama article so it's pretty biased, but he's a real playmaker and we need him.

I'm not sure what a wide receiver would see in Alabama. A basketball player either. I know someone will come back with a Julio Jones or Amari Cooper comment. Look at their receiver's numbers after those two guys. Not that impressive to me.

Fort said he's visiting Oregon this weekend. If they offer, he's a Duck. If they don't offer, Ole Miss looks to be in driver's seat.

My dad just texted me and said this guy is the best HS player he has ever seen. He has watched a lot of Memphis HS football over the years

3 TDs so far tonight

Apparently, he was unbelievable the first 2 weeks as well. Can't remember how many TD's he had last week, but it was several. I believe he had a couple of TD's called back in week 1, and I thought I heard one was for losing his mouthpiece. He has been the talk of the weekly Memphis radio segment.
