'17 FL DT Kivon Bennett (UT signee)

He absolutely dominated that Oline from Bingham Ut. They even tried double teaming him and he was causing HAVOC. Has a fantastic first step and a great punch. He has been taught great fundamentals. Weight program and add 30-40 lbs and he will be a force.

He was throwing up the Vol sign and saying Go Vols every time the camera was on him. Go to UofL and watch a basketball game, notice how much the weather sucks and get the hell back down south. Louisville is actually a pretty damn cool city, but it's hotter than mess in summer and colder than a witches $%& in winter. No mountains and a polluted, ugly river.

I know some are down on this class, but we have some really great pieces and Bennett is one of them. If we add Corker, Akers and Ray this is a really good class and underrated imo

If you look at Rivals, 247 & ESPN we have several commits that are just a fraction from being ranked a 4*

-4 Rivals commits at 5.7
-247 6 commits between .87-.889
-7 ESPN commits at 79

Rank by offers has us #8 without the commitment of Butler calculated in.

2017 Team Recruiting Ranking - Rank By Offers

These are not recruits that have offers from Hawaii and Idaho & TN is clearly their best offer like we saw during the Dooley era.

GO VOLS!!!

I'm getting excited about this pick up. He has a good chance to get significant playing time first game. That's of course if he's not a redshirt candidate.

Seriously doubt he plays as a freshman, kid is only 16.

Butch was retweeting some recruits tonight and one of Bennet's tweets was included. It looks like he's still being actively recruited to be a part of the class

I think this a guy that is being overlooked. Kid has a great motor. He's still young and a little raw. With a little coaching, he could become a star in orange.

I really like this kids upside too. He most likely needs a redshirt because of his size and youth, but looks like we could turn him into a great weapon with some development.

Kid also has good genes and comes from one of the best high school programs in the country.

Yep.

I like that he's a young member of this class too. Means he has more upside than some other prospects you see nowadays enrolling at 19.

The fact that he played his senior season at 16 against such good competition and at a high level is really encouraging.

If he can play he need reps. Lack of preparing younger players cost us the last 2 games of the year.redshirt ingredients is overblown if you can contribute

Seems to have pretty decent pass rush moves from the inside. Sheds blocks very well. I'd like to see him and Kongbo inside on passing downs.

Amen.. Getting 'in game' reps is huge..

Yea, considering who his father is, I can't believe he's not going to Bama.

Sorta like Tees boy? There were mitigating circumstances to ARs choice however. I think KBs situation is more like the Chase Hayden situation for us.

Just sayin.....look at us in bowl game versus last two games the month of practice was huge for people who were not getting reps behind starters..kids have to play to get experience so when u put them in their heads are not swimming

So
You think only the starters are getting reps in practice? Because the backups sure didn't get game reps in that month of Practice.

It might be more of the fact that with all the injuries people were having to play out of position. They were forced into these roles after no practicing there. The month of practice got them use to their new roles. They looked better because they knew what the were doing.

Before you say they should have already known the position. I can promise there isn't a team in the country that practices their third string defense ends at tackle because we might get 5 guys there hurt. This was a crazy season for injuries.
