'17 GA DE MJ Webb

Jordan Williams is 6'5 250. MJ Webb is 6'3 270. Totally different frames and styles of play. Williams is more athletic, more explosive, quicker and beats guys off the edge with speed, length, and an assortment of pass rush moves.

MJ Webb isn't nearly as explosive, but he is much stronger, much more physical and his best attribute is his ability to read the play and shed off blockers. He has a good motor, he is very physical and shows good core strength. MJ Webb is going to be a DT in college.

Jordan Williams may stay at DE depending on how his body fills out. I think Williams ends up as a big SDE in college, his frame looks like he can stay lean to me. Anyhow, MJ Webb looks like the better player if you are looking for a 3 tech DT, and Jordan Williams looks like the better SDE, but both are good enough to play either position.

“It went great. I really enjoyed the time that I spent there. I had a pretty good time,” said Webb, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 237 overall prospect and No. 8 strongside defensive end in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class. “I worked out. I did a session with coach Chuck Smith.

“That right there was the reason (I visited). Coach Strip (Tennessee defensive line coach Steve Stripling) wanted me to get up there and do a workout with him, anyway, so I was down for it. I’m glad I came back up again.”

“I know I’m going to take an official visit up to Tennessee,” he said. “(I like) just talking with the players and being with the coaches, and I love the campus. Knoxville is so beautiful. It’s amazing up there.”

“It was great. It was my first time getting to work with coach Smith and just getting to work with him I learned a lot,” Webb explained. “Just working out with him was great.”

“I’m playing things pretty evenly. I enjoy all the schools I go to,” Webb said. “I’m just going to wait it out and see how it goes.

“I’m going to take official visits, but if I have a change in my heart and I find a school that’s right for me I’m just going to make my decision right then and there. I’m not going to wait it out. I would just cancel the rest of my official visits.”

I don't think much of Williams at DT, his position is DE at the next level, IMO of course.

At the opening Williams looked great without pads when it's more favored toward the DL and speed, but when the pads came on the second day he got worked by the OL.

Wow USCjr commit. They're getting a decent class together for being awful

Chump selling Butch's used koolaid of bringing a program back. The only problem is SCar hasn't ever won so getting them back to mediocre is the best he can do.

Boom has always been a good recruiter. And Spurrier raised the ceiling on what could be done at USC. That said, they better hope Boom learned from his UF days because recruiting was def not his problem there.

:clapping:
I'm 46 and would be carded first. :)

I agree I am 46 and I was going to say this kid looks older than I do over the last few years I have wonderd if some of these guys were guys who played 10 years earlier or more and decided to come give fake names or their kids names and try it again because a lot of the recruits have looked far older than their age

Butch gets beat out for another player by Muschamp. As I mentioned before it would not surprise me if USCe passes us in the recruiting rankings this year UNLESS Butch starts culling some of these lower ranked players.

Butch should not be getting slapped in these head to head matchups with Moosechamp.
