Want on name alone.

Sounds like a blue-collar guy. A guy that's been working at an automotive factory for 30 years. Tinkers on his mowers in his garage on the weekends. Works hard, and washes down a tough day with a nice cold Busch beer. He may be losing a little hair, but that's okay. He and his wife, Carol, have stuck it out for the last few decades; she's not going anywhere. His jeans are scuffed, and his truck has hauled more loads than Sisyphus. The dog's getting old. Duke doesn't get around quite like he used to, but he still minds and comes when he's called. Fred's content in his home, a three-bedroom split-level with a lawn he tries to keep green and hedges he tries to keep trimmed. And now that the kids are gone with families of their own, there's a comfortable quiet in the evenings. Plenty of time to look back on a life that's been good to him. A life that hasn't left him wanting much or needing anything. A life with a good woman, a steady job, and some kids that still come around to visit every now and again. Those grandkids are something else, too. Yep, ol' Fred Hansard doesn't ask for too much. Just for the ol' Chevy to start again tomorrow. And maybe another cold Busch.

That's actually an excellent piece of creative writing. Well done. :)

"After talking to him yesterday and messaging a few times with him, I think they are a legit option, in his top two or three. I really do."

Yep...and thats why their was some fuss over taking low 3* guys. Save spots for best and spare the telling guys to look elsewhere. Imo

Those 3 star guys you worry so much about just got a bump in exposure and can go to a different school anytime they want. Its a two way street, UT is not a predator just waiting to dump them in the weeds.

When you hop in the car with your family and drive 10 hours down and 10 hours back, it means you have enough emotional interest to invest TIME.

Glad he and his family made it in and hope they loved Tennessee. Both the school and the state.

FWIW, Hansard reported back in March that he was 6-3, 295 after shedding some weight.

"I feel like I'm fast now, but I can become even more difficult to block with a little more speed," Hansard said.

He completed the 40-yard dash in 5.15 seconds last summer at a Rutgers camp, weighing close to 310 pounds at that point. Hansard used his blend of size and increased quickness to wreak havoc on offensive backfields, earning heavy praise from Hun School head coach Todd Smith last season.

"Fred moves like a 220-pound kid, so he has that rare blend of size, speed and athleticism that every college coach is looking for," Smith said.

These boys better be gettin on board.. Space is fillin up quick..

I'm not worried about room with a guy like that. They will not turn away a guy like Hansard. He plays at their biggest need position in this class and he's elite. He could decide on NSD and they'd drop someone for him. He's in that same group as guys like Trey Smith, Tee, Chandler, etc.. There are a good 10 plus current commits who have a good chance of being dropped down the road.
