If Heupel had the players Butch had in the Dobbs/Hurd/Kamara years we might have won a National Championship

We have some high quality (4/5 star) recruits. What I see that we need are a couple of high-quality interior DL recruits and were in the hunt on a couple.

You never know when a 3 star kid is gonna become a stud but it usually takes a few seasons. We need some men in '24 class will be in the mix for playing time in '24 and pushing to start in 2025.

Good coaching and good recruiting are necessary for a solid team.
Good coaching and elite recruiting are nearly always necessary for a national championship.


Average-to-good recruiting + good coaching = good-to-very good team, 9-10+ wins.
But national championship is very, very difficult due to lack of depth of talent.
History proves this over and over.
2016 Clemson was the lone exception in the past decade+.

Elite recruiting + bad coaching = very unpredictable team results. National championship nearly impossible.

Elite recruiting + good coaching = National championship is highly likely.

Considering our staff has had to deal with all of the recruiting restrictions, I'd say we're knocking on the door of elite recruiting

Pretty sure Dobbs *only* had a qb coach one season. And he was a RB coach
