I was thinking more like DeBarge.

Thanks, y'all. I needed tears from laughter this morning. Well done!

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Washington previously had reported scholarship offers from North Texas, UTEP, Louisiana-Lafayette, New Mexico State, Brown, Cornell, Eastern Kentucky, Howard, Jackson State and Prairie View A&M.

- 247

Obviously, not a great offer list; however, he must be an intelligent kid earning offers from Brown and Cornell. Based on everything I've read, I have no issue taking a PWO like this.

I feel like he's just as good as Mcbride going by film.. Great PWO

ESD is a small, private, religious based, college prep school. Academic standards are high. No surprise that Brown and Cornell were interested, at least academically speaking.

On the flip side, their football competition was extremely weak. Hope this kid's talent can be taken to the SEC level. I am rooting for this guy.

This PWO is a great addition. He didn't have any big time offers but his highlight video looked pretty good. He seems to have a strong arm and good touch on the deep throws. He looks to keep his eyes down field even when he has to scramble and seemed pretty slippery when caught in the backfield. I think we are getting a steal with this kid and it is great insurance in case one of the other QBs decides to transfer. I hope we keep them all because the more competition we have at the QB position the better.

Welcome to Rocky Top young man! BOOM!

Agreed. Getting a walk-on who has scholly offers from teams like North Texas and UL-L is a win.

Look at his offer list on 247. He must be an intelligent young man to have offers from Brown and Cornell. I'd bet he'll be on an academic scholarship and not be paying much of anything to attend UT. Good get, but man I'd have a tough time turning down an Ivy League education if it was my child.

There's some tough private schools that produce a lot of talent in this area. Especially in the skill position area. This program hit the ground running right after being built.

Yeah, like Bishop Dunne, who picked up a lot of talent when the Primetime Academy went kaput. They have some D1 talent, for sure.

Edit: and of course, Jesuit...but they're in a class by themselves when it comes to being private.

Have a junior in private school, JPII, but he plays baseball. Too many concussions in middle school to keep playing football. Blessing in disguise as JPII is terrible at football . They haven't won a game in the 3 years we've been there.

When they were building JPII, I had dreams of my daughter being able to attend...supposedly you were guaranteed admittance if you were Catholic. Didn't work with us moving to Little Elm.

Why the hell is Seth Texas going to Washington!!! I know they've gotten better the last couple of years, but he's way too highly ranked for them. He should be going somewhere like Ohio State or Tennessee. He might also want to consider Rice. They are really starting to churn out some talented QBs. Someone needs to talk with him and straighten him out and make him realize what a highly rated prospect he is and how he'll be wasting his talent at a place like Washington.

How, pray tell, does getting a preferred walk-on equate to a recruiting dumpster fire? Or did you assume that this was a scholarship commitment and just had to hurry over here to post your witty retort and wait for the nega likes to come rolling in?

not sure what all that jibber jabber gobbly goop means, but as for the acusations of leading the cart before the horse, yes i was premature. and for that i take my lumps. lo siento. doesnt change my opinion that Butch needs to have a strong finish in recruiting.
