'17 TN ATH Amari Rodgers (Clemson commit)

Clemson no doubt is in play here and it would be foolish to count them out.

However, there is a lot of factors in this recruitment that favor the hometown team such as friends on the team/committed and his mom wanting him close to home

Kids should always listen to mom when it favors da VOLS!!

Clemson's in play here. Definitely not the only reason he decommitted, but you'd have to assume it was at least a factor.

Here's a quote after getting the Clemson offer 2 days ago:

"The offer felt great. Before I committed, Clemson was actually my dream school. So that has definitely opened my eyes a lot. It really put my recruiting into a different perspective."

Come on.... that is just fluff. Who the heck besides maybe a local kid has Clemson as a "dream school". I'm not saying Clemson hasn't done a great job over the past 6 years earning the respect but dream school?? Nah

Edit- BTW Death Valley is in Baton Rouge :salute:

I see what you did there...GBO!

Clemson does as good a job as any staff on the recruiting trail IMO. They have a lot going for them currently BUT I think a lot can change between this year and next and I think UT is poised for making a lot of noise next year on the field. I think that with the local influence will push him to UT.

I was already on this thought and for the Tigers it could get ugly. They squeaked by alot of their games this year against bad football teams.

Very true. The shame in squeaking by a few games.
Probably should have just gotten blown out by a team that didn't qualify for a bowl game like Oklahoma did. Then I'm sure we would have had your respect.

Sometimes people forget that in 1998, we squeaked by a few teams on our way to a NC. Getting to the NC game often times requires a little luck.

A lot of teams stomped OU last year only to get beat by them this year. Last years results have nothing to do with this year.

Expect OU to dominate Clemson.

Agree about last year not meaning much. But they lost to the worst QB in the history our program.....BY 34 points. Now they face the best QB in our program's history. Last year might not mean much, but tough to say it means nothing when a lot of the same guys will be taking the field.

Anyways, don't think DW4 will be getting blown out at any point in his career at Clemson. OU might win, but DW4 is just a different kind of dude. Not the 2nd and 3rd stringers they've been feasting on all year.

While your busy picking off all of our players (lol), might want to keep an eye on your own guys. That stud 2017 QB you got will be visiting tomorrow :)

We're still takin' Feaster, btw. That reconfirming business with you guys = smokescreen. :wink2:

Clemson barely got by South Carolina and UNC in their last two games. Unless OU forgets to stay focused I can't see Clemson winning this one. Their defense is going to get run over by OU. Something like 40-23 OU, IMO.

FOr once I don't agree with you Ron.I think Clemson speed on the defensive side of the ball will give OU fits.If Mack shuts down Shepherd OU is in trouble
