'17 TN ATH Amari Rodgers (Clemson commit)

No offence to the kid and I think we would have taken him but there are 50 more out there like him. He doesn't have elite size or speed.

Right. It says a lot he bailed on dad. Wonder why he won't come with Mays and join the legacy kids. Must be some deep issues going on.

Maybe he bailed on Dad because it's 3000 mikes away and didn't come to UT so he could get a little ways from mama. Not everything has a sinister undertone.

1998 defense >>>>>>> Tee and offense

You are right, of course. But let's not forget Tee's contribution. It was significant. I am forever grateful and I know I am not alone. Whatever has happened since and whatever will happen in the future, you can't take that away from him.

Ouch, a little harsh. The kid owes TN nothing, so if your beef is with Tee, take it out on him.

Wale hale, if that's the way you wanna look at it, Tee owes TN nothing either. Let's just take it out on nobody.

Alabama boys owe Alabama nothing, Georgia boys owe Georgia nothing, and this Tennessee boy owes Tennessee nothing. Let him go to Clemson. Most of those Alabama boys go to Alabama tho.

Hey look, I took a whole quarter of Psych at UT. I got it figured out. He's mad at his daddy for something or other. Clemson it is then. When Dabo takes off to replace Saban, I guess he'll just have to be happy living in a cow pasture with weekend trips to Greenville for some fun.

Or maybe Toya let Tee know that his son from a prior relationship wasn't welcome.

No one asked for it but my two cents - kids like to take trips - kids like to commit when they are on trips. California is a long way away. Clemson is a strong competitor - with a good offense. Once Josh Dobbs ( who I absolutely love ) graduates - we will have a more pass friendly offense. We are going to kill it this year and will be on a par with Clemson - likely two of the top 4 or 5 teams in the country. He may want to take another look at some point.

Now as far as Tee is concerned - he did let us down a little when he turned down the position that we had -- but he is somewhat tied to the West Coast and his wife's wishes. Like him or not - I tend to like him - Tee Martin was without a doubt the best recruiter in the country this past year - bar none - if Southern Cal has any success in the next two years - he will likely be a head coach at a major D1 school - and will have deserved it. I wish them both the best - but hope we can swing Jr. back to the good guys.

Why do you need someone to blame? I assume you are a grown man, start acting like it.

Who said I'm a man at all--grown or otherwise? Who said I'm blaming anybody at all? Do you see anywhere in my posts where I said I blame someone for something? Why don't you kiss my azz? Don't tell me how to act, internet tough guy.

Anyone find it ironic that he's 16 years, 5 months old? Which would mean he was conceived in January of 1999, which seems to ring a bell for another notable event involving his dad?

I give him credit for being a great college QB. Holds record for most consecutive completions. 27 against S.C. But Defense got him to natty. Plus Clint Storener from Arkansas.

I'd be more pleased by TN signing 4 and 5 star OLs, defenders, and running backs then taking a chance on a legacy 3 star WR that doesn't have orange blood coursing through his veins. Nothing against the kid, but if he doesn't care to be a Vol... then fine. Scholarships aren't unlimited commodities. Good luck to Tee's son. I hope he represents Knoxville area high school football well... like LeRoy Thompson and Chad Pennington and the Smith kid from KCHS and DD Lewis and Chuck Ramsey and probably many others have in the past. I'm glad that Reggie White didn't go to UTC and John/Bill/Bobby Majors didn't go to Sewanee and Richmond Flowers didn't go to Alabama and so on.

I remember a bomb in the SEC championship that Dobbs could never throw and then some. It was a team effort IMO

I never expected him to come to UT..and it has nothing to do with his daddy.

It has to do with the type of player he is, and the schemes we run.

Clemson is a good fit for him. I do not think UT or USC is...

JMHO

Its never good to miss out on a local kid, but if I had to choose between Rogers or Higgins, I would take Higgins. IMO Tee looks and has the size to be a immediate impact player unlike the smaller Rogers. The thing that really helps the smaller WRs come in and play, is speed and quickness. Does anyone know about Rogers speed?

He will see the field, might not until RS.Jr year..but he will get playing time eventually.

I wonder if he'll have the patience to stick around that long for a chance.

He's a 3 star signing up with a National Championship contender. Playing time won't be certain. He could easily be recruited over and never see the field.
