'17 TN ATH Amari Rodgers (Clemson commit)

Anyone badmouthing this kid for making a straight up decision early in the process deserves a swift kick in the hindquarters. Specifically if the person doing the badmouthing is a full grown man.

CBJ should have upgraded the wr coach. I dont trust this coaching staff to take TN to championship level bc lack of development and goofy decisions

You should definitely find some more threads to disparage the coaching staff in.

I ask that you all return to the football forum. Kid went where he felt was the best fit. Who the hell are we to rip him for looking out for himself.

Clemson does a great job developing WR and the Tennessee passing attack was a bit underwelming and can improve.

If we push, we can possibly get back in this, and if not, best of luck to him.

I wont talk ill towards a kid though for making his decision and I sure as hell wont rip a young man for making his own path...unless its to Bama. Then he gets ripped.

You has the dumb now? I has the dum.

We've got to solidify the emergency plan and get the quarantine countermeasures in place during the next go around. Someone dropped the ball this time and the dum was nearly an epidemic.

Every time we have a kid commit to a school that isn't Tennessee, someone should venture to the football forum and create a real dumb thread there in hopes to contain this on its home turf.

I no get these words. 🤔 Am I eat up with dumb?

I'm sorry but Tennessee has given other schools a lot of ammo to use against us in negative recruiting the wr position. We saw it this past cycle, we're going to see it this cycle as well. Azzani has done nothing to prove he can develop talent at the wr position. Hell even our own players are jumping early like North because they don't believe their stock will improve under CZA. I think we have a great staff for the most part but we didn't upgrade the worst position coach on staff.

This is just the truth. Our passing game was bad in 2015, there has been nothing/no one WR we can point to the last 3 years for recruiting purposes as someone who has been greatly developed/stood out/been a high draft pick, and you can bet your bottom dollar we're being negatively recruited against because of it. The Ohio State coach tweeted out how bad our WR/passing game situation was, so one can only imagine what everybody is saying in the recruits' living rooms. It's bad, and only a major turnaround in 2016 with the passing game is gonna make it stop.

Pretty much. Results are the only thing I think that can help us now or a coaching change at that position. Azzani is a tireless recruiter and really busts it out on the trail but the results on the field just aren't there. We can point at the system or the qb or the position coach but it will be used against us and it is the most effective tool that other schools can use to negative recruit.

And I might add, if you can't sell your own wrs on your program then how are you going to sell anyone else

Didn't we sign like 5 or 6 players that could play wr?

Yep results or coach change is only way to get positive momentum there. I do expect improvement this year with healthy Preston and finally having some guys at slot that can make people miss with speed. That to me will be the difference maker is if we can get some of those young guys or Possibly Smith to play in slot and make plays. We had no presence over the middle of the field without Pig

I don't think you can place all the blame for our poor passing on Azzani. I think he shares it with DeBord, our pass blocking, and Dobbs.

Watch the receivers. They aren't physical, they don't get off the line well and they drop alot of passes. The WR corp has a multitude of 4 and 5 star talent and they haven't improved at all. That's on the position coach.

This x1000 they are soooo underwhelming.

Not disagreeing at all. I'm just saying there's plenty of blame to go around.
