'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

If Josh Dobbs only makes a couple of pro bowls and has a career like Philip Rivers where he never wins a super bowl, I would consider it very disappointing.

Eric Berry didn't meet MY expectations. That's why I consider his career disappointing.

Your expectations are incredibly dumb and irrational, so not surprising. Dobbs will never meet your expectations, Sutton won't, nor will the other dozens of Vols you called future HOFers.

Uh, because he was a freshman at LSU and still has plenty of time to develop and be ready to play here. Just a thought

I think he will be a good player in time. Delpit was ready basically on Day 1 as a true freshman. Both were EE last year, Delpit is elite, very similar to Jamal Adam's freshmen year. Delpit is LSU #1 safety, that was clear after about 2 games.

Stevens actually played more offense this year but was moved back over to the defensive side of the ball later in the year. LSU asked him to move to WR because of personnel shortages, he caught 2 balls for 32 yards early in the year, than he even played some FB/HB/TE position as well... but once a few safeties went down he went back to defense later in the year. He does a great job on punt return blocking - I notice him on that quite often. Not sure how he is at safety as he really hasn't been back there much in games that I remember.

Depth chart right now:
- Delpit (Freshman clear #1)
- Ed Paris (hurt might get a medical for 5th year)
- Battle (Junior)
- Monroe (rs Freshman)

The rest
- Stevens
- Harris (Freshman)
- Lewis (rs Freshman)

This year's class I believe LSU would like to just have Joseph but Washington is currently a commit, but he might be numbers loss if Joseph commits.... so 1, max 2 in this class. Numbers wise, LSU is about where they need to be... the wild card is probably whether Paris will get a medical RS.

Playing on offense might have set him back some, seems like a good kid.

Thanks. You always seemed like a straight shooter. :hi:

LSU-SIU thanks for the break down information. You always bring the truth and are a valued poster. :hi:

My God.

The dude had cancer and came back to be the best safety in the NFL.

Before he is done he will be a Hall of Fame ED REED type of player, who is that dude being watching the dude that took his place after he got hurt he is one of the most feared safety's in the NFL.

Hm. Well, I haven't heard anything credible from my end but the name has come up, so I am not completely surprised to hear it again.

He seems like a real good kid, I do wonder, if he was being moved (to WR) to find him a spot as maybe its not working out at Safety, speculation on my part. idk He has done really well on special teams and he threw some key block against Auburn that helped with the win. Very strong for his size and good athlete - maybe a little time is all that is needed.

To be honest, what I am little surprised if he left because he always looks like he into the game and when he is playing special teams its not like someone not happy about the situation - very much a positive energy.

Palm Beach Vol and orangebloodgmc, thank you guys. :hi:

Negative energy Randall, will suck the life from your body.

Positive energy.

If Jacoby is running from LSU cause he's stuck behind pros, then why come to Tennessee? Its not like he'll be playing in front of Nigel Warrior (who is better than anybody on LSU) and Theo Jackson (who is future NFL player as well).

All he'll be doing is going from the bench at LSU to the bench at Tennessee.

D4H I pray for you man LOL you are really doing a lot of meth. Theo was good and many thought he was a Cb meanwhile every major coach in Power 5 knew Jacoby is a S. Not a FS or SS just S because he can play both. He's better than Theo who I love personally and played with my nephew at Overton. No where near on the same planet my friend. If Jacoby came to UT he'd immediately be the 2nd S with Warrior and probably 3rd best Db with Warrior and Gaulden if he comes back.

Maybe you should try scouting tennis or maybe table tennis (after all, with that, all you have to say is "The Chinese will probably win this year"). This football thing is way beyond you unless you're being satirical .. if so, I am laughing with you, otherwise, we are all laughing at you.

Trust me, we’re laughing AT the kid. He’s not good.

I’m sure EB loses sleep at night over not meeting your expectations

Your expectations are incredibly dumb and irrational, so not surprising. Dobbs will never meet your expectations, Sutton won't, nor will the other dozens of Vols you called future HOFers.

Before this season you would have said the same for Alvin Kamara. But then he set the NFL on fire this year. And my prediction that he'll be the next Marshall Faulk doesn't look so outlandish today.

I'm confident Dobbs and Sutton will live up to my expectations.

So lets be clear. You said Josh Dobbs will be the greatest QB of all time. And Sutton is the next Darrelle Revis.

I know this is stupid to ask, but what kind of accomplishments, in your opinion, will Dobbs have to have in order for him to be the GOAT?

I'm going to give credit where credit is due. You were way out in front on that prediction. However, it's the number of crazy, outlandish predictions you whiff on that make that seem less impressive. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
