'17 TN ATH Maleik Gray (UT signee)

Maleik Gray has talked for weeks about the possibility of taking an official visit to Florida State this month, and he admitted he was leaning toward making the trip after the Seminoles visited him Tuesday night.

But he had a change of heart Thursday.

The top-100 senior safety from La Vergne (Tenn.) High School, who has been committed to Tennessee since June, said Thursday that he’s no longer scheduled to travel to Florida State this weekend, and he now is “done” visiting other schools and plans to stick with the Vols.

Gray said he simply decided that he “can’t turn my back” on some of the other commitments in Tennessee’s class that he has recruited to join him in Knoxville over the past several months.

Great, great news! What are we thinking with him? He going to play linebacker like in the UA game or be a safety?

I want to see him at strong safety. He can stick his nose in there when he needs to, but is a DB for sure, IMO.

kid has always been in love with fsu.

And that's where he is going imo.

Think about this

is he a better safety prospect
than
warrior
jackson ?

Is he a better lb prospect than
page
reid?

I don't think he has a home on our defense. And he has always loved fsu.
Not worried about what he does.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Well some dude on here said Gray was really a RB and a dern good one, so I'm not worried!

Gray said he simply decided that he “can’t turn my back” on some of the other commitments in Tennessee’s class he has recruited to join him in Knoxville over the past several months.

“I want to keep my commitment solid with Tennessee because I helped them recruit some guys, and they told me part of the reason they’re going is because I’m going and they want to play with me at the next level,” said Gray, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 78 overall prospect and No. 10 safety in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class.

“So that’s why I can’t turn my back on them and just walk out on them. I’m going to stay solid to my commitment and go from there.”

“I was, but I just don’t want to do Tennessee like that,” Gray said. “It’s done.”

I think that you all are being a little too harsh on LittleVol. He expressed his opinion and did compliment our current players. He may be right about Gray, though I do trust our coaching staff. Let's just let this one play out.

I'm sorry. I missed where it was he complemented Gray in the post below. Could you point that out for me?
