'17 TN DL Rutger Reitmaier (Oregon commit)

the latest I've heard is he tried to commit and it was put on hold. I tink UT has him on down the pecking order as a DL man from the source it was due in part to a subpar video from a camp or something.

That's kinda disappointing, unless we are in on guys like Marvin Wilson I would have expected him to be a take.

I would love to have him but this should be seen as very good news.

"The Ducks made a new offer at Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.) Wednesday morning. It would appear the offer made a big impact with 6-foot-3, 280-pounder Rutger Reitmaier.

Brady Hoke was on campus for Oregon letting the three-star know he had a new offer.

"Coach Hoke was telling my coach he watched my film and new after a couple of plays he was ready to offer," Reitmaier said. "He said he likes me as an active 3-technique or a defensive end. I'll play anywhere. You can see from my film I'm willing to play anywhere. It doesn't matter to me."

According to Reitmaier, Oregon and Tennessee are two big offers at this time. However Nebraska and Penn State are 'right there with them,' according to the 3-star recruit.

"Those two (Oregon, Tennessee) are definitely up there. But I'm going to take some more trips and evaluate the schools so I can make a decision by mid-t0-late June. I would like to commit and focus on school and my senior year if I'm ready."

Reitmaier said he plans to visit Tennessee on June 18. He's also close to locking in a visit date to Nebraska. His immediate plans call for making a trip to Oregon and possibly a return trip to Penn State before making a decision.

With distance being a hurdle, the Army All-American detailed why Oregon has an immediate shot for his commitment.

"I've always dreamed of playing up at Oregon. I think their defense has always fit my style. I love to be aggressive and use my speed. I love the outdoors. I love to spend my summers hunting and fishing. My uncle lived in Oregon and told me how he loved it up there."

Another ace in the hole for the Ducks comes down to academics.

"I want to major in computer science and Oregon has a great program."

Tennessee leads the current 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions."

I know he is smart enough to realize that TN offers everything he says he likes, and some of those things he mentioned we surpass OR in. I'm not sure what all you hunt in the summer, however.

Also, the Vols continue to pursue instate defensive linemen Rutger Reitmaier and LaTrell Bumphus. This summer will be important for both as they will be taking visits out of state.

I know there had been discussions that he wanted to commit earlier - and we asked him to hold off for now - but Ryan Callahan told me that was not the case. I didn't ask him for his sources, my sources are Volnation by Cracky!!
