“Coach Mahoney and I talk a lot,” said Leitten, who's ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 525 overall prospect and No. 56 offensive tackle in the 2017 class. “He messages me a lot. We talk. He just keeps up with me, asks me how my day’s going, keeps up every week. He told me to keep up on a weekly basis. He’s really interested and he loves my film.

“He just keeps saying, ‘Keep Tennessee on your mind.’ He really wanted up on (Feb.) 20th, because that was, like, the VIP recruit day, but I wasn’t able to make it up. He’s really excited for me to get up there (Saturday) and get another chance to get his eyes on me, so I can’t wait to get back up there and see what he thinks.”

“Growing up around a bunch of Tennessee fans, being a Tennessee fan, when I’m up there, I kind of feel like, ‘This is where I belong,’” Leitten said. “It’d be a great offer to have. I’d really like it.”

So, should we start mailing him peanut butter or just let the staff handle it?

Needs to eat Waffle House 3 x a day

Waffle House parking lots are full of fights so he can jump in on some of those to help nurture the proper OL attitude of whooping some azz!

He's a take to be sure. A redshirt yr, some blue plate specials and a yr in the weight room and he'll be ready to go!

The 6-foot-8, 250-pound offensive lineman from Ravenwood High School continues to pick up significant interest from major schools, most notably Tennessee, who has hosted him twice in the past month, including last week for a spring practice.

“They have a lot of energy. They like to do things big and that’s the attitude you need to have,” Leitten said of the Vols’ spring practice. “The coaches have a lot of attitude and passion and they have a lot of fun doing it.”

Leitten kept a close eye on offensive line coach Don Mahoney during the practice and liked what he observed.

“On the field he’s intense. He puts a lot of passion and energy into it.” Leitten said. “He really loves what they do and that’s important to me. It’s just cool to watch and see what it’s like behind the scenes.”

Currently, Leitten has offers from Vanderbilt and Wyoming but more could be on the way. Tennessee has told him they want to continue to build the relationship with him as he continues to get bigger and stronger.

“They just said keep coming back and seeing them. They want me to come to camp and I will try and camp there and should be able to,” Leitten said. “Coach Mahoney said something about schools taking it too fast these days and I think that’s true and I like that. I want to be happy wherever I go and I like that they are building that relationship so I don’t rethink a decision.”

Also talks about liking Duke in the article. Said he has two brothers that go to UT, but both will have graduated by the time he is a freshman. He said a UT offer would be special and that “I just feel at home when I’m there."
