'17 VA DT/ATH Eric Crosby (UT signee)

This kid apparently likes to eat, but I can see him being very disruptive due to his low center of gravity and freak athleticism for a guy his size.

Slims down a bit, could be another Owen Williams. Good run stuffer that can get to the QB on occasion.

I believe he had either 7 or 8 sacks this past season. That's if I'm not getting him mixed up with another recruit. That's getting to the QB pretty good from the DT position if so.

Myth. You can't turn fat into muscle. Carry on. GBO WGWTFA

I think the big thing for him is to get his BMI down. He people can lose 15 lbs but it looks like 30 because the transform there body. When I went to college to play ball the coaches told me they wanted me to drop 20 lbs. I was 235 small forward. When I showed up that fall semester they were like Lois like you did a good job losing the weight. I told them I only lost 5 lbs but dropped my bmi from 19 percent to about 10 percent. Long story short they were happy.

You're confusing BMI with body fat %. BMI is just a weight ratio.

BMI is also IMO the silliest measure of "health" out there. I understand that regarding medical procedures if an individuals BMI is too high then the doctor is less likely to operate on an average human being since recovery, etc. could be an issue. But lets' take Ty Chandler for example. He weighs roughly 200lbs, and is 5'11. By those measurements his BMI is 27.9, which is considering overweight. BMI doesn't take into account body fat/muscle percentages. I don't think it should be used in sports at all. Random tangent my B.

Couldn't agree more.

It will be interesting to see how quickly some of the signees change their bodies — or at what weight Gullickson & Co. prefer some players. Wideout Princeton Fant wants to get under 200 pounds, while roughly six weeks ago, Tennessee asked defensive tackle Eric Crosby to report in around 300 pounds. However, about a month ago, the Vols changed their mind and decided they wanted Crosby to weigh in at 325. Crosby is currently at 323, hoping to be south of 320 by Monday, so “I can be ahead of the curve before I get there.” Unlike some of his teammates, Crosby has some Olympic lifting experience and is currently benching 405 pounds 3 times, while squatting 525 pounds and deadlifting more than 600 pounds.

That strength is fighting for playing time

6''3 320 and is that strong😳😳😳😳 it's a game of leverage my friends and with those measurable, he sounds like he will be winning the leverage game for awhile.

He's more towards 6'1" but still one strong dude. Think he will be heavily involved in the DT rotation this fall
