17 VA DT Breyon Gaddy (UT commit 7/19/16)

Out of the two, which has the higher ceiling?

I think Breyon will be needed to play meaningful reps sooner.

The staff needs to pick a spot for Brandon and leave him there to develop. He's the kind of kid coaches tend to move from position to position and they never get a strong foothold on anything.

"In the same mold as current Vol Kahlil McKenzie, Gaddy is a massive defensive tackle that shows nice athleticism and is a load to handle up front.

Tipping the scales at more than 315 pounds, Gaddy is first and foremost one of the bigger defensive linemen in the class of 2016. But, he's more than just stature.

Gaddy has some nice footwork for someone his size and isn't just a stone wall in the middle, he can move. At several camps in the spring Gaddy showed he knows how to rush the passer in one-on-one situations and can use either his strength or his surprising athleticism to reach the signal caller.

In a class where Tennessee needs to reload on the defensive front, Gaddy should be able to provide early assistance. With McKenzie, Shy Tuttle, Kendall Vickers and Quay Picou the only for sure Vols on the roster at defensive tackle after next season, Gaddy will have an opportunity to find a role up front early on."

"Gaddy is absolutely massive and there are very few offensive linemen that can stop his forward momentum. As long as he plays with good leverage, Gaddy has a large enough arsenal of pass rushing moves to beat nearly every offensive lineman he comes across. Look for Gaddy to improve his conditioning once he gets on campus."

Love that. Thanks Ron.

Does ESPN still have him as the #102 player? That video was from awhile back if I recall. Just wondering if they were still that high on him.

Listed as the #36 DT on ESPN now. Fell way down the list. Is a 3* on there now. It's updated too, because it shows he is committed to UT as of today.

ESPN ha.....well you know.

What the hello happened that he fell so far? Especially considering how valuable true DTs are? Grade concerns maybe, it did he just have a terrible camp some where?

Bishop Sullivan coach Chris Scott said he’s excited for the twins and acknowledged the hard work they've both done on the field and in the classroom to get to this point.

“They bought in and believed,” Scott said. “And they have not listened to the naysayers and just continued to believe in the mission of Bishop Sullivan and the potential that we saw in them. Now they’re focused on their grades and their senior year strong."

...Scott believes Tennessee is getting two premier players. “They’re big and as athletic as anyone in the country,” he said. “Tennessee’s track record of developing big-time defensive linemen and graduating them and putting them into the league is a great choice for them.”
