Tennessee has supplanted Auburn as his stated leader, with LSU and Ole Miss also involved.
The Vols may get his first visit this summer.
He intends to render a decision this summer after visiting a bunch of schools.
Provens said he would like to bring his family to see Clemson’s campus before returning perhaps to compete at the Dabo Swinney camp in a month.
“I’m going to try to do both,” he said. “First I want to go up there with the family so we can get to know each other. I don’t want to just jump into the camp part because then you can’t really meet everybody and do the main important stuff.
“I definitely have interest in them.”
Do we take both Teague and Provens if both want to commit?
I don't believe Provens is a take right now otherwise he'd already be a Vol. He wants to be a Vol and his family wants him to be a Vol but he's at best 3rd or 4th on the board right now. VQ mods said on this weeks podcast that if Teague picks UT this month they will likely push hard for Dixon as the 2nd RB this class. If he doesn't commit quickly look for the staff to push for Grant and/or Provens as 2nd back. Basically we're waiting to see who Teague picks and the dominos will begin to fall.
The 3-star running back was in Knoxville and camped today doing all the drill work with Robert Gillespie.
Provens has it down to five finalists and will announce on Aug. 11 at 9pm est. He will see all five of his finalist before then and plans to be back to see Tennessee again before his decision date. Of the five he has seen Auburn, Tennessee, Louisville (next weekend) and then will see South Carolina and LSU sometime in the next month.
He said of the five a couple of schools are standing out but wouldn't name them.
He said he weighed in at 187 today. Auburn is recruiting him as an athlete. At Alabama's camp recently he worked as a slot receiver.
Everyone else is recruiting him as a running back. He said that he didn't care what position he plays.
