“I’ve known coach Helton for a long time, he’s been recruiting me to USC and we’ve got a really good relationship,” Hall said. “Pretty much as soon as he took the new job at Tennessee he called me up to let me know they were offering me a scholarship.”

For it being this far along in the process, Hall’s recruitment remains fairly open, which could be to the Vols’ advantage. He’s taken just one official visit so far, to Oregon State, but after Helton’s visit, he’s making travel plans to head east next month.

“I’m definitely visiting Tennessee now. I have a lot of interest in them after speaking with coach Helton,” Hall said. “It’s either going to be on Jan. 19th or Jan. 26th, it just depends, but I’m coming out there for sure. “Growing up in California I’ve always been intrigued by the SEC, I know they play great football there, but I don’t think we get the respect we deserve on the West Coast, so if I end up there I’d be excited to show people what I can do.” Hall added that Tennessee caught his eye long ago as a favorite ‘go-to’ team in video games. “I used to play with them a lot, so I’ve kind of followed them since I was a kid. I loved the stadium and the checkerboard end zones on the video games when I was growing up,” he said.

“Coach Helton wants me at receiver but he told me coach Pruitt wanted me at safety,” Hall said. “Honestly it doesn’t matter to me, I really like playing both the same. For me the preference would probably come down to whichever spot I could get on the field the soonest at.”

“That’s not important to me at all. A school’s location doesn’t matter to me if it has all the other things I’m looking for,” Hall said. “What’s most important to me are the academics, finding a place that will be able to prepare for life after football. “Playing time, at least the chance to get on the field as a freshman is a big factor. I want to know that the school has the coaches and the facilities to develop me as a football player, but no, distance isn’t a factor.”

“Coach Casey is a great guy to play for, he’s laid back but at the same time he’s really intense,” Hall said. “He’s always talked about Tennessee a lot, so I’ve known about their program just from being around him. “He wants me to make whatever decision is best for me but he was definitely excited that I got an offer from his alma mater.”

I know the coaches don't have a commitment yet, but these guys are amazing. This class may turn out better than we think it will the way they recruiting.

I know it does not mean much unless they end up in Knoxville, but it appears a lot of high caliber recruits are visiting/interested now that Pruitt and staff are at Tennessee. I do not think they would even consider us if we still had Butch, but heck I do not know if he was even recruiting them. It seems that we got some great classes with Butch, although they did not always fit our needs or get developed properly. I think that changes with Pruitt and staff.

Is Hall setting up an official to UT? I didn't see his name mentioned in the war room

When we spoke with him a couple of weeks ago he was firm about coming to Knoxville for a visit and completely unsure about taking visits anywhere else. Seems like Tennessee is in a good spot with him. He mentioned USC and Arizona as possibilities to get visits but didn't have a great deal to say about either.

Sounds good for the home team

Lots of guys from California getting offers. I'm assuming these are guys Helton was recruiting.

LA area has a bunch of good HS programs. Much like Miami in the fact that alot of players are looking to get outta there for school. I am sure Fair might have had some contact with some of them, but it's safe to assume Helton has met the majority of these players once or twice.

What's his high school team's color, because that looks more yellow. Either way can not help but laugh at how far fans go to spot things lol. :lolabove:
