'18 FL CB Tyson Campbell (Georgia signee)

Beating Alabama while Saban is there is, in my opinion, not feasible for Tennessee. Saban has way too much talent and his players develop at a high rate.

Think about Alabama this past year. This was one of their weaker teams. Yet they steamrolled us effortlessly. Now they have an actual QB who can throw. I would be willing to bet Alabama beats by 30 again.

Yes playing Bama every year is bad enough. But having 2 nightmareish games sucks. Actually we have 3 this yeaf because we get to play Auburn.

I remember Tennesse lost from 1971 to 1981. All the stop signs around town had "STOP BAMA" on them. Is that still a thing? It sure has the same feel to it right now.

It is time to turn things around starting this year. If we don't win, at least make the statement that it's coming.

I think Tennessee beating Alabama would be one of the biggest wins in program history.

Ole Miss beat em several times. I'm sure that's why Saban wanted him, just like Kiffin (who almost beat him with our inferior team)

Just hope Pruitt can coach em up.

* The Vols made a nice impression on American Heritage teammates Tyson Campbell, a 5-star corner, and Nesta Silvera, a 4-star tackle committed to Miami, during their OVs this weekend. Both were engaged throughout the weekend and had a good time, per sources. The duo turned down interview requests after their visit, and sources say Tennessee remains a longshot for both prospects.

You know we all knew they were long shots, but appreciate the hard work this staff has done in the short time they have had getting in some of the top recruits to take a look at us. This class to me, with the already EE that have signed has been a success just on filling a lot of needs. And I still believe they are going to finish strong and every need that needs urgent care will be filled.

GV247 says per sources we made a big impression on Campbell. Not leader but now a contender to give him something to think about. Staff is cautiously optimistic.

Not getting hopes up but at least making him think

While not likely, how amazing would it be to get Griffin and Campbell?? 👀

— it didn’t come as much of a surprise that five-star cornerback tyson campbell of american heritage school in plantation, fla., declined interview requests sunday and chose to remain silent after wrapping up his visit to tennessee. He also didn’t speak after visiting georgia and alabama the previous two weekends. But the vols, who recently weren’t believed to be serious contenders for the 6-foot-2.5, 180-pound cornerback, made a big impression on campbell, according to sources, and might have given themselves a chance down the stretch. It still would be an upset if tennessee landed campbell, who’s also considering georgia, miami and alabama. But there seemed to be some cautious optimism about the vols’ chances after the visit. Miami now is set to host campbell on his final visit next weekend.

From SEC Country:

Tyson Campbell, 5-star cornerback, American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.)

Tyson Campbell took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend. While the Volunteers are not a legitimate contender, it does show that Jeremy Pruitt and his staff are going to be a problem on the recruiting trail when they get things going in a few years. Campbell visited Alabama last weekend and the team felt confident in where it stood with him, and the Tide still remain optimistic, but Georgia is still the team to beat, in my opinion.

how?

CB 0
LB 1
RB 1 (depending on where Grant ends up. if he stays RB we have a hole at S)
QB- guy we have wasn't heavily recruited despite the NFL accolades
TE- I keep hearing about we need more beef
OL- Carvin and????
DT we are clearly looking for another one.

WR looks good and so does DE/OLB. the rest are question marks. everyone seems to be looking thru some orange colored glasses.

Yer shades may be a little dark there as you left a bunch of ol and dt/de off yer list that already signed. And a te. We'll be fine. Not to mention the highly rated guys we have a chance to close with.

a bunch of the OL are projects from Butch (boo Butch). TE is the same way. Eff Tennessee ring a bell?

I said we were good at DE, and DT we are looking for one more.

we are depending on those highly rated long shots to make our class. Not pooping on the job Pruitt has done, but I am not going to act like what we have right now is enough to turn around the program.

TE Dominick Wood-Anderson? OL Jahmir Johnson? Both highly rated Pruitt signees. And yes I agree we want another DT but we did sign 3 pretty good prospects that are all listed as DT and can play there. I'm just saying you are accusing people of orange tinted shades when yours may be too dark since you ignored some pretty good prospects that are already signed. And it looks like we are in for a pretty good close.

Also, don't forget we need a punter and signed a good one. Punter U am I right. hahaha:)

about the one thing Butch got right.

I am always leery of Jucos.

Johnson, we weren't really battling the big boys on, Mizzou and Arkansas seemed to be the biggest competition based on his visits.

Woods Anderson is one guy, and a juco. 1/3 hardly makes your case for it being a strong position.

I was just pointing out that you may have forgotten some of our successes in recruiting early under Pruitt but I guess that was intentional. Carry on pushing yer negative narrative.
